Just bought a black LT Trax, we love it. This is a poor review of a nice affordable vehicle. These things punch way above the price in what you get. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING WITH A CVT IVT or any other kind of trash trans. This ride has a real trans and a powerplant that has been in service for a few years without any major issues.

I have owned this car since August, and I'm in love since day one. It is a real diamond for what it is and offers, I have no complaints at all; happy owner here!

My wife and i were on the market for a RAV4 or CRV and we saw these on the chevy lot. We bought 2 Trax for the price of what 1 RAV4 would have cost us out the door. On our 3rd oil change and absolutely love it. Would recommend .

I've had my 2RS since last August and I never realized the armrests were scratchy? OMG I live in the real world. Seriously I have 10k on mine and haven't had any issues. I love it. The only thing I don't have is the Convenience safety tech, a disappointment but what I could find.

I've had my 1RS since February and it is working really well. I don't know why in all these videos they complain about the armrest and some other minor things?! Maybe they don't find anything else! Yes, it's not a perfect car, but at this price it is a perfect car. Live in the real world and adapt your expectations to the price you pay.

I've done a lot of research since I got my Trax 2024 a month ago.
The Turbo engine is sensitive, so it needs TLC:

I learned I should let the idle calm down after starting the vehicle, then drive it easy (lower RPMs) to let the oil circulate into the turbo bits and warm up for a few minutes before I start pushing it - a bit longer in cold weather.
If I drive it hard, I should let it cool down for a few minutes by driving light or sitting at idle before turning it off, to prevent hot oil from burning the turbo components.
I should change the oil at around 1000 miles (to get rid of break-in metal filings), 3000 miles, then every 4k-5k miles or 6 months, whichever happens first. Full synthetic of the appropriate grade ONLY.
I need to be mindful of the air filter - have it changed every couple oil changes.
And I should expect to get the internal wet timing belt inspected and or replaced at 40k-50k miles, despite the manual recommendation of 150k miles. Any degradation of the belt will quickly affect other components from rubber fragments, and a slipping belt could mean pistons colliding with valve covers because this is an 'interference' engine - that is, the pistons in their movement occupy space that the valves also occupy when they are open, but proper timing keeps them in sync so they don't collide. If the pistons and valves collide, severe engine damage is likely.
The engine is aluminum, so it should cool down before any mechanic work occurs on the engine bolts, to prevent the threads from deforming.

I'd like this vehicle to last me 11 years. I'll be putting around 90k miles on it.

I have no issue with the 'hard' elbow rests since I have a little fat on my arms.
But I HATE the angled headrests. I keep mine as low as possible but will consider getting a headrest that allows my head to be more in line with my spine. Terrible design that addresses 'safety'.
I also keep the Auto Stop turned off - I don't trust the extra wear it will put on my engine.
Sometimes it doesn't like to accelerate much on a hot afternoon (maybe because the A/C is running?), but I'll deal with that.

Just got mine Cayenne Orange and im loving it. The ride and what I paid for it sold me. It was between the Honda HRv and Trax and Trax I captured.😊

As far as "losing" 18 hp compared to the previous generation, most first-generation Trax models had the 138 hp version of the 1.4L Turbo, which also put out 148 lb/ft of torque. The Trax had the 155 hp version as the sole engine only for its last model year in 2022. The 1.2L has similar power but more torque than the 1.4L that you'll find in most 1st gen models.

Can't beat the price for the looks.👍 Especially in this economic times. Other brands like Honda and Kia have high markup over MSRP. Honda had an $8, 000 higher than MSRP and said it started at $22, 000. I couldn't afford that Kia and Hyndai wanted $2, 500 to $3, 500 above MSRP. Mazda said they will sell at MSRP$25, 000 but, kept adding on and ended up over $28, 500 without the taxes and destination fees. This is the best in the class. Actually, it's in a class of it's own. There truly is no comparison. Surprised they still make a car around $21, 000.

Longer and lower, it's morphing into a station wagon and I'm all for that.

In order to get the SUV Corolla or Civic, you’re going to be paying over 30 grand. I got my 2024 Trax RS for under 24 grand and I love it. No, it may not have all the bells and whistles on it, but I didn’t have to pay the extra cost for them, either. Running 60mph, I average 32 mpg, running 87 octane. Now, there are 2 things I do not like about it. I have manual seats, not the problem. The problem is the tiny, little handle in the middle at the extreme lower part of the seat. It is very hard to reach at a standstill, let alone when driving. The second is this god awful noise canceling noise at certain speeds that is 100 times worse than the road noise it is supposed to help get rid of. The plastic armrest’s? They are arm rest, you aren’t supposed to lean on them, they’re fine. It is very roomy and I don’t have an issue with the takeoff speed. It has plenty of power. I get on an 80 mph turnpike without any issues with it. It has plenty of speed for passing on 2 lane highways. No, it isn’t a sports car, but it is yet sporty. We love our Trax 1RS.

I just got my 1RS recently, via a trade in, but while it makes less power compared to the previous gen, it weighs approx 200lbs less than the previous gen. And feels quicker too! But yeah. loving it so far! Great vid guys!

I wonder for all the small nitty gritty that are missing on the Tax... Is because of the more luxurious Envista ?

Getting ready to buy one for my daughter. She loves it too.

What's really strange is the 1.3 liter which isn't available in the Trax, has better fuel economy than the 1.2 liter.

The only issue might be the motor. Turbo and the rubber timing belt inside the oil with a PITA process to change it before it blows out and takes out the motor. Other then that I feel like I got a great deal and do love the car.
