3 STARTER Modules for NEW Foundry VTT GMs (w/ Settings)

preview_player
Показать описание
These modules were confirmed working with V12 Foundry as of October 2024.

In this video I go over the three most basic, core, barebones essential modules that you will need for your Foundry VTT games. This is meant to be system agnostic, although I primarily have dabbled in PF2e and D&D5e. They should work for most systems, however!

You probably already have these modules if you know Foundry a little bit at all. I am aware these can be obvious to experienced GMs, but if you're absolutely brand new you may not know where to start. So this video is for you, new Foundry GM.

I'll be making future videos with more advanced and obscure modules eventually. Please don't flame me in the comments for picking "obvious" modules. We all had to start somewhere. And if you do, at least give me suggestions for the next video! Try to keep it system agnostic if possible, or at the least modules that work for DnD/PF2e.

This video was kept short on purpose! Please let me know if you prefer short content and like and subscribe if you do!

Long time DM/GM and just broke 400 hours running on Foundry. I did feel like there needed to be a couple extra notes:
Dice So Nice. First off, it WILL show up as out of date, however, it still works fine with every system I have played with (PF2e, Call of Cthulhu, Cyberpunk, and others) Also, there are a TON of Mods that work under Dice So Nice (most are free, but there are some you can buy ( for around the same price as a physicle set. Nice, but a bit expensive. The Free ones give more than enough options and thus far, I have had no issues with and mods tied to this one. Highly recomended. Also, the suggested settings are spot on. One extra setting to turn on is the one that allows your to bump, move and mess with dice once that;'ve been rolled. It doesn't change the rolls, but, it makes for a good fidget spinner while waiting your turn, or to frighten new players by bumping thier dice to the 1 face.
Dice Tray. One nice option is being able to adjust the rolling area to include or exclude areas of the screen. Don't want dice sitting in the chat box? exclue that area. Also agree that other than that, not much needs to be fiddled with.
Small Time. This one is new to me and could be handy for friends running Adventure Paths. Unfortunately, I run in my own homebrew world. I wonder if you can create your own

Please, keep making these module videos. I run a D&D game and play in a PF2e game. Both of our groups find these useful. Your macro vids are awesome, too. Thanks!

Super useful -thanks.
New to Foundry, not new to PF2. I’m looking for just a few at a time so I can learn them before adding tons more

Great video! Apparently one of the first ones since you say you’re not sure making them is worth your time! 😂

I guess ‘this whole thing’ ain’t half bad. Thanks you Mr. Pablo!

Thanks for those videos! I'm super new to GM'ing PF2E, so it's always great to see your recommendations of macros and how to use them to make things smoother.

I really appreciate these Foundry videos for PF2E and your delivery style. Bite-sized, easy to follow and very informative. Hope to see more!

Definitely worth making more of these, if you do make more and end up covering some advanced modules it might be worth also reaching out to the module maker in case they want to link your showcase/tutorial of their mod. I'm sure a lot of them constantly get simple questions so they'd probably be happy to promote a vid in this style.

After playing a few PFS games on it, I'm at the very beginning of my journey running Foundry (I've only installed it on my laptop). This gives me a few modules to start with. Thanks!

I find "Simple Calendar" take "smalltime" and removes the "simple" from it. In the end I removed "Simple Calendar" and found smalltime was able to handle Golarian dates set through the 'Pathfinder' game settings - and is what I would have expected out of "Simple Calendar".

Lovely! There is so much to learn about foundry! I'm actually trying to convert my maps and I'm so desperate to understand how to make Better Roofs module function! It would be amazing knowing modules to show rooms on multistorey maps and roofed buildings!

thank you for your video !! I LOVE short videos when i look for modules !
I know you want us to keep watching it but could you write somewhere the names of the modules instead of "module #1" that way i won't have to rewatch the whole video looking for the specific module that i missed ? (in a 5min video it's okay but in a longer video it would kind of boring)
Thanks again !
