Bloomberg is reporting Sony has cut PlayStation VR2 forecast in half due to low preorders

• Originally Sony was aiming for 2 Million during launch quarter, now down to 1 Million

Actually I don't think this price tag is high because there are other old VR headsets with similar specs goes around for 1200$ so this combined price for the console and the headset. Actually I am so hyped to get one and play cause I haven't played a VR title yet and I want to play NMS on PSVR 2. There might be people with this kinda opinions on PSVR2 but I think overall lot of people are hyped for PSVR2s release.

Come on, guys...$550 for a good VR system with the specs the PS VR2 has is an amazing price! I will admit that I'm not super excited about any of the launch titles, but I see the potential. I'm likely going to get it.

I'll say it again, though, $550 is an incredible bargain!

How about some fact checking first... Playstation has officially said it is not cutting output numbers. The person who broke the initial story is known for bad takes and getting information wrong. Already refuted.

I know there’s a recession so it makes sense that many can’t afford it right now, but this is cheaper than PSVR1 came out, and at least half the price of an equivalent PCVR headset.

For me just being able to get GT7 in VR sealed the deal, and it’ll be my first foray into VR.

I think you are the type of gamer that just cannot see beyond a 2d screen. If you are a really horror fan as you always point out, I don't understand why RE8 in VR doesn't get you excited. For me the device is priced more than reasonable given the cutting edge tech on it and the lineup is excellent. I already preordered it and Feb 22 is almost here folks!

It's hard to go back to racing, flying and horror games once you've gotten a good one in VR. Regular gaming just doesn't compare. It'll always have a big place in gaming, but once the average gamer gets a taste of proper VR, it will grow in popularity. Once they get the form factor and price right, VR will become more pronounced in gaming.

I went ahead and pre ordered it after GT7 info came out. I got the bundle for 699 euros, which is a lot, but the reviews of the hardware are very encouraging. I got the Edge controller yesterday and it is instantly the best controller I have ever had. Such high quality.

I pre ordered it because I want to support VR this time around. I’m learning that if people always take a wait and see approach then there is no way the product will succeed. For me, Horizon, RE Village, Pavlov and GT7 have me excited. Never owned any VR headset so also looking forward to Tetris and praying they bring over RE7 and AstroBot :) hope it’s successful

I'm super hyped! I'm glad Sony kept the price down, as this would be a thousand dollar headset if it was designed for PC. That'll help sell more headsets, which then makes it more enticing to develop for. I'm glad they went with wired instead of compromising weight, graphic fidelity, input latency. And I'm excited about the massive launch lineup which looks like it'll be around 40 strong. While not all bangers, there's plenty to get excited for. The timing is good too, since Meta has shown that they're all in on metaverse, commercial and mobile VR. And PCVR has grown stale. This headset could be the shot in the arm the industry needs, at the right time. An exciting time to be a gamer!
