Great tutorial for beginners! I would add that making incremental changes to the trucks--say a quarter turn, or even less like 1/6 of a turn since the nut is six-sided--is better for dialing in the turning to one's personal preference and comfort. I personally leave the flat side of the nut parallel with the axle, so that there is less hang-up and friction during grinds, and when it does get ground down you are still able to get a socket on for future adjustment. And for beginners, it is advisable to start a little stiffer, but work towards looser trucks as you build confidence and stability so that you achieve maximum performance and ride-ability.

That was so helpfull! I am disabled and all my life my parents have stopped me from doing sports like that. Now at 30 I learned how to ride a scooter and yesterday I bought a skate but I have trouble with stability so I hope with tight wheels I can learn easier

Thinking of buying a Rampage Plain Third from you guys (I’m on a low budget) and after reading some reviews some people complained about the trucks and bearings being low quality and needing some adjustments. Probably gonna buy a skate tool in case I ever need to adjust mine.

I’ve had a single longboard for the last 11 years, got it as an 8 year old girl and took it down to a skate shop where some dickwad 14 year old made fun of me and I never really got into the skating community, just used my board for fun on my own. Now at 19, I got my second board ever and am going to try to change the wheels-something I never did in the lifespan of my last one. Thank you for such an easy to understand video, I’m maybe a few years late on learning this but its nice to know not everybody is as scary as 8 year old me maybe thought!
