I often get asked how much my Cane Corso costs. But the question that should be asked is how much does it costs to own a Cane Corso. I go over all the expenses broken down per month so you know how much it will cost to own a Cane Corso.

So is it just me or did anyone else just randomly stumble upon these videos?

I don’t have my cane corso puppy yet but so far this is a breakdown of what I’ve spent thus far:
Puppy: $2500
Puppy Supplies: $250-$300
Insurance (Nationwide): $65 Per month
Obedience training: $420

Food is tbd - we will be putting her on the BARF diet, we’ve already located a farmers market to purchase the meat from.

Luckily my house already had a 6ft high fence all around, I also have approximately an acre of land.
Overall, not too bad. But prospect owners need to be prepared to handle the monthly costs associated with dog ownership.

I’m very excited to get my puppy btw ☺️

OMG, his face tho'. He's so worth it, the way he looks at his pop, he is so much love. What a handsome boy.

I pay $20 a month to watch dogs on YouTube. Very economical!

I’m glad Jason did this video. Taking care of a giant breed dog the right way is very expensive. I now have a Cane Corso but my prior dog was an English Mastiff (230lbs). The costs escalate substantially when they get older. My mastiff was $6, 000+ for vet, food and medicine alone his last three years. That’s if nothing goes wrong. Four days in the hospital with pneumonia was $6, 000. Two days with bloat was $4, 000. Vet bills are 4-5X higher by comparison to a 40-60lb dog. You must have a car big enough to accommodate your dog. An giant breed is not going to fit in a Camry. If you have the means, Mastiff breeds are definitely worth it. They are the most loyal, best friends you will ever have. My English Mastiff lived 9 years - about 2 years longer than the average life expectancy for the breed. But please, if you can’t or won’t spend the money to give these dogs the life other dogs can have for 25% of the cost, it’s best to choose another breed.

Nothing brightens my day like seeing Bruce Wayne!

I had 2 Great Danes, that ( heads) look similar to Bruce Wayne, and the food costs and vet bills were the highest costs for them. They lived a long happy life ( yes both slept on my bed with me) and passed away within 3 months of each other. It’s been years and I’m still not the same. You are a responsible pet owners and it gives me joy to watch your channel. 🌺 Aloha from Hawai’i

Great to get this information out there! People (myself included) forget the hidden costs, food, vet expenses, pet insurance. Thanks Jason.

Bruce is gorgeous! I also feed a raw diet. I am so happy about this video. It is very important for people to know the cost. My Corso's were 2, 500.00 a piece. I spend more on my Corso's a month than I do on myself. My children are grown my dogs are family. I also take my dog's to daycare for socializing. They love to go. I live on 40 acres in the Idaho rocky mountains but had to put up a fence for my dogs safety. Porcupines, Skunks and other wildlife are dangerous. I learned the hard way when my Nero took off after a Moose.
The Cane Corso is the best breed of dog I have ever owned. Thank you for all you do. I subscribed to your channel. I am excited to watch all of your videos.

I've owned dogs my whole life, right now, I'm not in a position financially to own one....which hurts my heart! My solution, I volunteer at 2 different shelters 4 days a weeks. I recently got divorced, I live a 1 bdr apartment and although I can pay the bills I can't add the bills of a And that my friends is called being responsible! Thanks for the GREAT video!

Ruby Tuesday is our cane corso rescue dog. She didn't get the daily exercise, got busy digging under the previous owner's fences and one day thy came home to find blood all over the gates as she had jumped the gate, gotten her tail trapped in it, and chewed her tail off to get free. I live near the sea in NZ, took her in and she is in heaven. She learned to be so sweet to me and our other digs and cats, and is the kissingest dog I ever had. She is loving and gentle tho' I know she'd be hell if someone tried to hurt me. Thanks for the video. Well done Bruce Wayne's Dad. *)

I appreciate this video even though I 🤮 at the thought of all that money lol. When my husband put it on I instantly told him I didn’t want to watch it because I’m the person that doesn’t think or even wanna discuss the cost. He’s the opposite BUT I’m happy to say that even after hearing what you guys spent it didn’t deter the fact that we do want a Corso❤️Lucky enough our home is already fenced in so that saves a lot. Currently we are planning on adding one of these guys to our home but most likely aiming for maybe winter time when his job slows down and he’s home more just so he can be more involved. It gives us time to prepare and just really get us ready. Unfortunately many many years ago when I first was out on my own and “adulting” I had the idea that I wanted a Saint Bernard and without even giving it a second thought I got one.He grew up without any kind of training. He did understand the common commands but that just wasnt enough.I babied him and he definitely walked all over me.He listened but it was only when he felt like it :/ It was 💯 my fault.Eventually he became aggressive even towards me.I would be laying on the couch and he’d come up and get in my face and bark and it was the kind of bark that was intimidating.Things just got worse from that point and he did end up biting someone in the face.Thankfully it wasn’t a bad bite and didn’t require more than a washing and bandaid.By this time I knew I messed up and should have taught him.It was to the point even I was afraid of him and you can’t be afraid if you want to have a happy healthy obedient dog.I knew I didn’t want to put him down, I knew it was my fault that he was the way he was and I reached out to a few people and I finally came across this woman who also had Saints. She didn’t even give it a second thought and offered to take him and I knew it was for his best interest and even though it was sad and it made me sad AF I did it for him so he could have a great life.I did not want something else to happen that would end up with him having to be put down.I was legit the definition of a poor pet owner.I was young and dumb and didn’t think about all what a animal needs to thrive. Now here I am older and wiser kicking myself in the ass because it could have been so different if I had just taken the time.Love your videos and I absolutely adore Bruce❤️It’s heart warming to see the way he is with you and your wifey.

There’s people in the comments saying that these costs seem wayyy too high but my grandparents have shown and bred national champion Rottweilers for 35+ years and these all seem pretty accurate. Dogs are an investment but very worth it when done correctly. Bruce looks gorgeous and we can tell that you really love and care for him 😊

I just recently came across your channel . Bruce is magnificent. I know for me I would not get such a large breed dog because he doesn't fit into my lifestyle . I am so very impressed with how well he is cared for and how much thought you and your wife have put into giving him a wonderful life and keeping him healthy. It is great that you are educating people about the breed. I live on a rescue farm and we have taken in so many animals, large and small over the years . It is sad that the animals pay such a high price for human ignorance, getting an animal of any kind is a true commitment....they aren't handbags...they should not be purchased as fad dictates. I have subscribed and enjoyed your videos, keep up the good work.

I am so happy to see these videos and a community that loves their Cane Corsos. I love my pup so much, so well behaved, such a gentle temperament, and yes I spend quite a bit feeding her but she gets great food and love and she is growing so big and so strong

I like that you covered the monitory costs of owning a Cane Corso. But, could you cover the time cost/commitment in owning this breed? The training, exercise, socialization, etc consumes a good portion of an owner’s time. I think this is where average owners come up short and why many dogs end up in shelters and rescues.

Hi Jason, I just watched your video based on your Cane Corso yearly expenses. I can tell that you did your dog research before you purchased John Wayne. Thank you for doing that. I can't tell you how many humans I have run across who don't do this exercise BEFORE they get a dog. Like you, I treat my dog as a family member. Lastly, thank you for being honest & sharing your Cane Corso expenses. I think if you are going to take the step to purchase any dog, then do it the right way...go all in. Although I can't have a Cane Corso in this time of my life. I am very happy with my furbaby that I have now. We both look forward to watching you & John Wayne's adventures. Smiles.
