I got my Tuscon N Line S Hybrid 230 in Oct last year and I love it. Interior is great and is also comfy to drive. I do like the looks of the new Sportage and interior also looks good. Either one you go for, I think you would be happy

I am very proud that Kia Sportage is made in Slovakia 🇸🇰 but i am absolutely in love with my 2021 Tucson Premium+ Hybrid 230HP with leather seats. But if u choose one of these two cars u can not make mistake 👏

Very happy Tucson HEV premium 230hp owner, since 5 months ago. A really impressive car, very pleased with the purchase. I like it more outside than Sportage but I do admit Sportage interior is a bit nicer.

Test both. Tucson is premium model and Sportage is middle. Material inside is better quality in Tucson. Price is almost same....Kia is 600 eur cheaper then Tucson in same level of equipment. My choise is Tucson.

Looked at the EV6 which i really like, I test drove both the EV6 and the Sportage, found it difficult to choose so went with the wifes choice and placed an order for the Sportage PHEV as we both liked the high riding position, the technology, AWD and the technology is very close to the EV6.
I currently drive an Outlander PHEV.

+Tucson. Together with my wife we agreed that Tucson is more spacious, especially on the rear seat...

drove both of these cars over the last 2 days, both were the PHEV options, with approx 260BHP, the tuscon was a the premium spec with a cream leather seats setup and the sportage was the GT-line spec, with black interior, the tuscon by far was more comfortable seat wise and felt roomier, possibly an optical illusion due to the lighter coloured seaters.

As a lay out of the cabin i prefered the sportage, but for a couple of things, firstly the curved screen felt a little too far away, when in my optimum driving position, so i had stretch slightly to use the very left hand button, which included the home button. secondly the fan on/off switch was on the left hand side of all the controls rather than the drivers side so again having to lean/strech slightly. to put this into prospective i'm between 5ft 10, and 5ft 11 (about 179cm) and i class my optimum driving position as my wrist balancing on the steering wheel plus i like my seat back quite vertical.

so aesthetically the sportage may be better layout but practically the tuscons for me was better.

On the driving side the differences were obviously minimal, both easy to drive, with that slight delay with the uptake of the gear changes and engines kicking in, but nothing i couldnt get used to, both excellent on the motorway and back roads respectively, both would give you the confidence to overtake if necessary or when joining a motorway to get up to speed etc, also extremely quiet to drive in urban/town enviroment in hybrid modes.
I also extended the range of the vehicles whilst driving quite normally over a 45-50 minute road test, so guessing the previous testers maybe were a little heavier footed than even i am.

We've been driving our Tuscon Hybrid (not plug-in) for 15.000 KM now and we are far from 42 mpg (5, 2 l/100Km). The reality is, even if you drive it reasonably, it consumes about 8 L/100Km, which is quite striking to me.

Tucson, better looking and classy trim aesthetic in my view, subjective of course. I test drove both this past weekend, don’t agree with this reviewer on many aspect. Recon the Tucson would make me smile for much longer when I see her parked on the drive. Either way, both cracking cars.

You can’t go wrong with either but I pick the Hyundai because it just looks more posh inside and outside

THIS was the review I was waiting for.
Looks (Front): Tucson
Looks (Side): KIA (Tucson has too much geometry going on for my liking AND the plastic around the wheels needs to be matching paint to the body. The wide black plastic trim looks hideous)
Looks (Rear): Tie
Looks (Interior): KIA
Technology: Tie
Ride Responsiveness: KIA (based on the video review here)
Ride Comfort: What Car? you tell me, this is the deciding factor for which car I ultimately buy as I want something quiet and comfortable, especially over longer drives on the highway.

Thank you!

I'd go for the Kia if I had the money for a new car. Much better than anything else on offer atm

I really love the rebranding of Kia its looks so minimalist and almost electrical. I love the sportage interios and screen.

Even in the Mercedes GLAs and GLBs you find a lot of hard plastic (even in higher trims) so KIA and Hyundai do not really have to fear anything in terms of quality

As I'm buying one of these cars, I was looking forward to this review, but sadly the review isn't very even as you use the GT-Line S for Kia (Top Spect), but Tucson is the entry level Connect, so it's not really a good comparison, you should have used the Ultimate, with the Tech pack, then you would have a much even comparison.
After driving both, the Tucson wins, the dial for the automatic is far to easy to choose the wrong position, the display is beautiful on the Kia, but the switch between heating and media, gets very distracting when driving as you need to look down to check, but the biggest is the DAB on the Kia constantly cuts out, and after looking on the net and speaking to Kia this because the range topping panoramic roofs interfere with the reception, so have still got to release an upgrade to rectify this issue. It was the slowness of Kia admitting this that made me go with the Tucson, as at £40k you would expect them to make sure a stereo works decently of the assembly line.

The Kia is the one I like because of its interior and dashboard and warranty

I got the top trim Tucson Hybrid. The exterior in my opinion is fantastic if you want to go away from the traditional look, the exterior lines create diverse light angles and shapes, quite exciting to look at, the grill is unique. The interior on the tucson is a modern flow, straight lines, there are some details on the Kia that I like(big screen), but I must admit once I went full digital, I cant stand the sight of knobs, big buttons, a gear stick, or obvious air vents. Both gorgeous, but I'm siding with the Tucson (reason why I picked it). The Kia 6 does presents an interesting mix, will wait to see how it evolves.
