In direct contrast, not only would the driver of the Nissan Versa survive, but he would also walk away virtually uninjured! I get it why such 1-star cars for other markets exist, but most of them at least have a rigid passenger compartment. For example the Renault Kwid is pretty okay, it's not a death trap. They get 1 star due to missing airbags and driver aids. But selling a 20 year old design which wasn't even considered safe back in the day is just not cool.

I couldn't find any safety data on 1989 Nissan Sentra, but I'll take this video as a similar car to that and say that it's totally unsafe.
