Crash Testing Compilation at the GPSTC

Here are a few of the crashes I have helped with over the last few years at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.

DISCLAIMER

Crashes in these videos are done for the purpose of creating accident scenes to be used for training students in accident reconstruction and investigation classes at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. With these crashes, formulas that are taught are verified and students get hands-on experience in crash scenes. Sometimes demonstrations are done for groups but any crash is used to gather the post crash scene data for teaching purposes.

These crashes are not meant to test how any particular vehicle model holds up and the ones used are surplussed by the state. Most are high mileage and have issues so please don't give us any grief if we crunch someone's favorite model. We would use a Yugo if it was given to us but I'm sure we would probably catch hell from the Yugo crowd.

How is nobody talking about how incredible it is that the first crown vic never flipped AND it's tires stayed inflated. Thats nuts.

I had an accident similar to the one at 1:00 that put me in a wheelchair for 26 months and now nearly 7 years later is still affecting my life. A texting teen pulled out in front of me leaving me less than 1 second before impact (on my dash cam is was 0.8 seconds) at a closing rate of 52 mph. She and her passenger both walked away ( 2015 Ford Explorer), it took paramedics 35 minutes to free my legs from my 2012 Ford Focus.

They need to preserve these vics. Stop destroying them! They are such work horses!

The empty bud light cans were just the perfect touch to that poor vicky blasting off that embankment

That 2nd test, is a perfect demonstration of the rigidity between similar sized unibody and body on frame vehicles. The Crown Vic, being body on frame, sustained moderate damage but for the most part it stopped once it hit the A pillar. The unibody Impala completely collapsed, and became deformed, as well as having crash intrusion all the way to the B pillar. Shows why body on frame is a safer design.

Love the Bud Light beer cans at zero gravity. GPSTC keeping it real.

Hats off to the uploader for continuously replying to new comments with professionalism.

The camo hat and Bud Light cans add a sense of realism. Sadly the unrestrained baby seat is also to real.

There is a video of a cab driver falling asleep at the wheel in a Ford Crown Victoria with no seat belt on and he is ejected out the rear window when the car rolls over, a must see.

My late husband would often drive like these videos. Bottle of Jim Beam and a six pack of Bud. He usually made it home in one piece. Except the times he didn't.
