I connected my new iPad Pro (5th generation) to my super ultrawide monitor. Looking to see how it connects and how the interface works to see if it adds an extra dimension to use of the iPad.

Using a iPad Pro (5th Generation) (M1).

Notability has a presentation mode which is why you see a wider screen. There’s a button on the top left of Notability which allows you to change the screen resolution.

I haven't tried it but there is an app called Shift Screen that gives you full screen and floating screen and PiP capabilities. Another YouTube made a video about it and really likes it...maybe that will help you.

This is now possible with "Stage Manager" but unfortunately only available for M1 Chip iPads. Thanks for the video. Liked and subscribed.

Try jacking up the refresh rate on the external monitor to the highest setting, 240Hz if possible. If you can, also change the display setting from PC to AV. I’m using my iPad Pro through a CalDigit USB-C hub to a Samsung Neo and it works ok. The icons are a bit big but there aren’t any black bars on the side.

I can use the full size of my 32:9 monitor if i use USB-C to DisplayPort cable on my M2 iPad Air. Windowing is funky because apps will not go wider or taller than iPad ratio. Getting 3 or 4 apps on screen is doable but this is definitely not smooth sailing. Maybe the M4 pro handles this setup better.

Where is your updated version of this??? You know you can actually do this now with IOS 16. Download the beta! It’s totally usable now.

As far as I know you have to hook a keyboard up to the iPad to enable full screen support. Have you tried this?

Hello, in relation to the problem that many Apple users present to see on an ultrawide monitor, I think they eliminated this option in the new models, I say this because I have an Ipad Air with version 123.5.5 which is connected to an original apple adapter and in turn an HDMI cable which is connected to my ultrawide monitor and I can see full screen, I tried it with my ipad mini and with this it does not work with the Ipad pro 4th or 5th generation even when there is a option in the settings menu to change to HDR and in the monitor you can change to PC or AV but they do not work, as I mentioned it only works with my IPAD AIR, it is a pity that with the new devices this option is not active, I share with you this information in case you have an Ipad air and want to try it on your monitor.

Would you not be able to use the separate inputs of the monitor and have half screen ipad and other half screen mac mini. It would probably still be the same size but then at least you could use the rest of the screen. Some ipad apps allow you to use the second screen a little different like LumaFusion will give you a video edit preview and allow you to use the ipad screen to edit at the same time. Enjoying your videos like the monitor setup I am considering similar in the future.
