How to use iPad with external monitor in 2023?

In this video, I will also show how it is to use an external monitor with an M2 iPad Pro and the ipad mini 6 that does not have external display support.

This was very helpful compared to the other videos atop the list. I have the iPad mini 6 as well and find it limiting. Considering upgrading to an M1 iPad to get extended display capability compared to the mirror mode that the iPad mini 6 only supports.

I have an iPad Pro and a MacBook Air…I set the ipad up as a 2nd monitor, however, when I do so, my video (a Udemy course) will gray out, and I only hear the audio but not the visual. Why does that happen? I should mention too, that the video comes back after I disconnect…

Thanks for the Stage Mgr., info. I have an older monitor Dynex brand actually. I connect my M1 iPad Pro to the Dynex but nothing happens on the Dynex monitor. I am using a Zagg keyboard case for my M1 iPad Pro so I have the keyboard. I am seeing the little blue icon on the top right of my M1 iPad Pro so it is recognizing the plugin to the external monitor. I do have a Bluetooth mouse -would it need to be paired with the Dynex monitor for my setup to work? Many thanks in advance for any tips you can offer.

Do you guys think this is too ambitious... iPad -> usb hub -> monitor, audio interface, usb midi keyboard.. love the compatibility, touch and other features the ipad provide, wondering if it's ready to replace a macbook pro?... Thanks for the video. In iPadOS version 18.3, there seems to be a bug in that the Dock can't be turned off on the external display as you show at time 6:18. In iPadOS 18.3, in the "Multitasking & Gestures" section of Settings, when the "External Display" is selected and "Stage Manager" is selected, there are "Recent Apps" and "Dock" switches but turning the "Dock" switch off does not remove the dock from my external display.

Huge thanks for clear explanation and demonstration of specific features of interaction between BenQ monitor and iPad! I’ve run into same issue: couldn’t change the volume of sound at BenQ monitor from my iPad Pro (connection by HDMI) (((. Could you please clarify: using the external Bluetooth speaker in parallel with external monitor is the only options for changing the level of sound from iPad or there is some other solution? Thanks in advance!
