Will you be commuting to work? Here are three things to think over:
1. The before and after
2. The commute itself
3. Geography

Until next time…

You know how much I love coffee.

Been commuting for two years to nyc from nj with a 55 minute commute about 45 miles and it doesn't bother me at all I'm considering moving to Pennsylvania so I can buy a very big home and avoid huge taxes and shitty laws it would make my commute 1 hr and 20 minutes at 70 miles but my mortgage would be about half of what this type of home costs by me in Jersey and it would give me benefit of a nice nyc salary and very light bills

Sean..you are so on point!! I am a 45-55 minute commuter to work..I am a senior nursing student..will be graduating in May 2019!! So I utilize my commite time to school and work by listening to my nursing lectures..However, the ride home..it is a sedative!! For borj school and work!! It is all I csn do to stay awake..I usually play my radio, put the windows down..These 2 tatics are helpful..

Been driving 2 hours a day for a few years now. I can trace my anxiety and depression to around that time. I will be getting a job about 10 minutes away, but I am giving up saturdays. Doesn’t really bother me because I’ve always wanted a week day off.

The commute to my hospital about 45 minutes and I've been doing that for about 5 straight years. Sometimes it's 35 minutes if the traffic is pretty clear and there's not a lot of cops. It's really not bad but 45 minutes is the max I would be willing to drive to a job. I live in a more rural area and the few hospitals that are actually closer to me were not ideal for me to work at so I drive to a bigger city. I work night shift so the traffic in the evenings can be a pain, especially on Fridays! I've never had an issue driving home in the mornings as far as falling asleep behind the wheel or anything like that, I just listen to music loudly and it keeps me awake. I still manage to get home at a decent time and get enough sleep for the most part. If you manage your time well it's very doable.

I also live in an area with four seasons. My commute is 18 minutes when I stay at my mom's or 1hr+15 minutes if I stay at home. From commuting both, I found all of the above issues. It is better to have the shorter commute to get more sleep and less traffic anxiety.. longer commute gives more time to podcasts and any audio books to catch up on or if it's a pretty scenic drive, unless it snows. I went sideways off the road and almost hit a tree. Somehow I still made it to work on time. I think I should move closer to work when the time is right. Yeah.

Hit the nail on the head. I have a 45-55 minute commute to my job, half of it on a 1 lane scenic highway with slow tourists. The sedative portion couldn’t be more true. I’m a NOC nurse, I only get max 5 hours of sleep between shifts so commuting home next to the serene ocean on HWY yeah, I have found myself slapping my face quite a bit. Not including the constant flood of wildlife that loves to leap in front of my car in the pitch black on my way to work. I love where I live but it’s become a huge hazard. 😓

I love my 10 min drive to work! I’m not crazy about overnight shift but it’s my first job out of school 😍

Long commute seems ok, I live in a rural town with less cost of living and my monthly mortgage on my house is 1/4 of my monthly salary. I work in San Francisco coz the pay is high and just do a 2 hour commute each way goin to work and back home. Good thing I work permanent graveyard shift so no traffic goin to work and goin home coz in the morning traffic is on the opposite way 😆 plus i have fixed sunday mondays off 😜 drives a tesla and charges it when i get home i save on my electric bill coz i break even with my solar panels and battery 👍

I had to do my preceptorship on the night shift and over 30 min drive. Not fun. I feared for my life; glad that one is over.

my dad owns a company thats in the middle of nowhere, he wants me to take it over someday, it will make about $100, 000 annually. The huge problem is that its 1hr and 30 minutes away from where I want to live. What should I do?

Hi Sean....I just applied to an FNP program. What are some resources such as books and online study guides do you recommend reviewing to best prepare myself? Thanks!

I just graduated from university and will be commuting to work soon. Is 8 kilometres far? According to Waze, it'll take about 13 minutes without congested traffic.
I've never driven more than 6 kilometres in my life before.

No more commuting due to Covid 19. Good news. But very sad news for the deaths caused due to the pandemic
