Kennametal and Helical for carbide.
Ghuring and Cleveland for drilling
5th axis for work holding
Ingersoll and Sandvik for everything else

Seco has always impressed me. Their app is super helpful and you can call them anytime with questions

I like having both a well engineered website AND catalogs from tooling brands especially if I’m not 100% sure what I want

I like it the easy way, will only buy online if, they have a good website, the price of the tool is listed, and delivery options are available. I never buy if they ask me to call for the price, no time for that.

For me ISCAR has proven day in day out on my CNC lathes. For my CNC mills. Niagra, Kennametal, YG1 and Helical. Blaser coolant for the last 12 years has been a game changer. Find yourself a distributor to buy thru. They'll bring these company's sales guy in to you. They'll give some cutters to try. Best is, they'll give you proper /correct speeds and feeds for the tools.

Hey, you talked about tool life being X times better, is there a way to rough estimate tool life? I can not find anywhere in datasheets/handbooks. Only formula to adjust tool life estimation to cutting conditions, assuming we have Y minutes of generic tool life. However where do you find that/or any relevant reference?

I'm starting to see machine tools, inserts and end mills from the grand old high quality, and high dollar American and European brands come thru with MADE IN CHINA markings. The price has not come down though.

"This is your part with our tools". But with a million dollar mill that you don't have. How is that helpful?
