Can a Spider Get Stuck in its Own Web? Wrapping a Spider in Spiderweb Experiment

In this video I test what happens when you put a spider's own web around it. Will it get stuck? Can a spider get out of its own web? Then I test if I put another spider in the spider's web can it still get out or are spiders immune to getting caught in a spider's web?

They use HTML and python

You picked the wrong spider mister. Jumping spider's web are built for shelter not for traps, they hunt their preys without the help of web. Please do this again with a weaver type of spider. Golden orb weaver, Black widow etc

The spider with the long abdomen is Funnel web weavers (Family Agelenidae) not to be mistaken with the Australian Funnel Web. This species is native to North America. But the spider which resemble a jumping spider is really tough to find because there is a few species which resembles it. One is native to Europe but it is the rare ladybird spider Eresus sandaliatus. Also it could also be some spesies which I don't know or sometimes if you leave a jumping spider (phidippus audax) for a long time it would start to jump around and make a web.

Jumping spiders don’t really build sticky webs. So the second spider couldn’t really get stuck. But probably because of the sent of the jumping spiders web discouraged it from going forward potentially being “eaten”.

Well the main issues with this experiment are that not all webs spun by spiders are actually sticky. There are ancor lines with tend to have little to no sticky properties, drag lines which do, and other types that I can't think of atm. There was wads of glue (that can actually be seen with the appropriate magnification) that are spread accross certain webs that are used to capture unsuspecting prey items, the spiders are aware of this and typically navigate through while avoiding it, some species have very very small hairs with oils that help to avoid this issue. Furthermore, many if not all species are actually capable of eating their own and even other webs. Another thing to consider here, is that no two species are entirely the same. Some spiders don't even really spin webs, I.E. pretty much any spider from the huntsman (or wandering spider) family. (No, neither huntsman nor wandering spider actually refer to a single type of spider, its just what a lot of people refer to a specific type of spider from Brazil as for some reason, probably because its a type of huntsman/wandering spider and the scientific name is difficult to remember or pronounce for a lot of them). This isn't to say that wanderers/huntsman are incapable of spinning webs. All true spiders have spinerettes but not all actually utilize it for making homes, some strictly use it to capture prey while out and about. That being said, neither will actually get caught in the web. They'll maybe get stuck for a split second, but they can literally eat their way out or simply snip a few strands and freely walk, or rather crawl away.

The spider in the orange cup is a jumping spider. These spiders build a nest as a place to keep their baby’s or to molt and most of the times to just rest.

You really might be on to something here...
I'm curious as to how you could test how/if the spider can recognize it's own silk...
Excellent as usual.

" HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!? DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I SPENT ON MAKING THAT?!? "
