I love the idea that he didn't understand that it was a giant, deadly spider, thats just how he responds to all spiders in general, and thought it was perfectly reasonable to just lock the door and let someone else squish it. He just assumes that spiders can get that big, and he just hasn't seen one yet

Oh yeah, the episode where the Doctor berates someone for killing a giant spider then 5 minutes later traps a whole group of them in a saferoom to die. That's some good writing.

Also known as the episode where The Doctor scolds a guy for suggesting they put the queen spider out of her misery with a bullet to the head, then instead proceeds to lock them all in a sealed room to die a slow and agonising death by starvation. I'm glad it wasn't the 13th Doctor who had to deal with the star whale in "The Beast Below".

Oh yes, that one time the Doctor decided that being shot is less humane than being trapped in a tiny room with limited food and air and suffocating. Nice one, Doctor!

Gotta love the Doctors morals in this episodes. GUNS BAD DON'T KILL THE SPIDERS! Instead, she locks them in a room and lets them die slowly and painfully of starvation.

This episode showed me that Chibnall doesn’t understand Doctor Who. The Doctor would never let the hotel manager kill the big spider at the end and just walk away. There was no conclusion to several things in this episode. What happened to Yaz’s mom? What happened to the spiders in the vault? What happened to the scientist? This episode felt like it was missing the final act and was poorly done in the editing room.
