Hi Tech Gumbo. Back in the day my favorite free office suit was Open Office. Then there was a split between Creators/Devs and Libre Office was born. I tried both and prefer Libre Office. Yes it's free open source.

I also like 7-zip for compressed files. I know it's free. I don't know if it's open source.
