Tech joke for the day:
Why programmer prefer dark mode?
*Because lights attracts bugs*
(when you think about it, it's actually true lol)

The best Linux distro does not even exist, only the one that you use.

"Let's install VS Code, Microsoft Defender and MIcrosoft Teams". Chris, it is Christmas, not Halloween! :p

My distro is still Mint Cinnamon. Extremely stable and my configuration looks pretty slick. Yes, there is this and that pre-installed program that I don't use but I don't care.

Obligatory complaint about some aspect that I do not agree with.

It remains POP! for me. It's an ubuntu descendant, plays games fairly easily out of the package and is easy to get support for.

Quite a demonstration. At the tail end of 2019: "Let's not and say we did."

2:50 I don't understand what you're doing. Guess I better start with Linux for beginners (Windows user here)

My favorite distro is Debian Stable. I have limited bandwidth so I like the fact that I do not have to upgrade packages over and over again. Also I like how stable of a distribution it is.

I made a very nice discovery recently and it is ArcoLinux. Coming from about 6 months of Manjaro utilization, i can say with confidence that ArcoLinux is more stable than Manjaro, as it follows the same update schedule than Arch itself. The distro is well maintained, and in addition, the developper Erik Dubois is very present in the community, making tons of videos to teach the users and to help fix issues, wich is something that i appreciate quite a lot for an amateur like myself.

Merry Christmas and a happy 2020 Chris. I guess yay is Arch Linux's version of Ubuntu's sudo to install applications; I don't have yay on my Ubuntu system, this is why I agreed with you on the point you made in another video about the disadvantages of Linux, one of which is lack of conformity across distros. Great video.

I prefer Manjaro KDE over your suggestion for two reasons:
1) My PC is quite powerful, I also bought a decent amount of RAM for a good reason: TO USE IT, so I don't care much about having 98% of my RAM unused. I am also not interested to spend too much effort in order to achieve a perfection in optimizing my system, since my Manjaro KDE already gives my 99.8% of optimization already. The remaining 0.2% of optimization that would be achieved this way doesn't really justify 3-4x more of my time and effort. The difference between those two setups in my daily desktop use (I'm a full stack developer) would never be even slightly noticeable.
2) Nowadays Manjaro is much more reliable than Arch linux due to withholding of packages for testing before the update is pushed out. For this reason and this reason only I would always favor Manjaro over Arch. When combining it with my previous topic, I will definitely install Manjaro on my next setup during 2020 (if needed).

For not liking GUI updaters, how do you feel about the Pamac-CLI in Manjaro?
