NÜOBELL adjusts quickly and looks great but they're too fragile. Snode's AD80 dumbbells aren't perfect adjustable dumbbells either but our teardown & drop tests may change your mind on them.

I was questioning your scientific method drop-testing protocol ... until I saw the glasses. Excellent work.

Love seeing the teardowns and wish all reviewers took the time to do that. Nice job.

I love my nuobells so much. Feel the closest to regular dumbells i cant switch. And the ez 5# adjustment is so good. Never had an issue

Thanks for always looking our for the community in your thorough reviews. I am not in the market for these, but I still enjoy a Gluck filled Thursday.

Thanks for your review Adrian, after watching your video I bought the Snode AD80 and have been using them for over 4 months I thought I'd come back to leave a comment. In short, I have owned nuobell and I totally agree with this video title! Snodes are Solid, tough, I don't have to babysit them, 10lb increments are no problem for me personally, no regrets at all, thanks for introducing this brand

Always love how in-depth Adrian goes into reviewing these products. Can't wait for him to cut all the dumbbells' in half.

6 weeks of using my Snodes, I do like them so far. They'll get scuffed a bit and the adjustment dial will get a little rough but outside they've been good to me. Platemate donut magnets work very well with them and protect your legs when you're setting up on a bench.

I've had Nuobells for 3 years and they still feel as good as the first day. If the components are wearing down internally, I cannot feel it. I like the knurling and haven't heard anyone else dog on it.

It is great to see how much adjustable dumbbells have changed over the years.

That subtle mention of REP's big 120lbs at the end.... TELL US MORE!

Would love to see a review of the Kensui AdjustaBells MAX and Eisenlink/iFAST or even the FitRx SmartBell XL for the ultra-budget option.

And on an unrelated note, please do a review on the Keppi Bench 5000! On paper it seems like one of the best value FID options on the market so we gotta know how it really stacks up!!

Gonna need some more benches to rest those on.

Hmm I have had my nuobells for about 3-4 years now. Dropped them, not from high, but they're still kicking. I love my nuobells!

To me, the practical 5 pound increment of the Nüobells and the fact that I never drop my weight after a set means I'll most likely go with the Nüobells... But great review! Liked it!

Metal gears require lubrication and maintenance. Nylon gears are silent and if designed to a good tolerance, will not wear much because they don't load up due to low friction. You would worry in this case about the durability of the axles and plastic centering features that are baked in, but they seem to be beefy enough and designed in a way to be low friction. These are the kinds of things that happen when a passionate engineer wants to make his design work. He starts with the sexy twisty aluminum extend-o bar, but the design really has to follow through in the details. The gears, the nuts, the fasteners, the tolerances, the material selection, the GD&T and manufacturing. Good engineering on display.

I opted for the Havak triads. Although they aren't exactly quick to change weight, I rarely need to. A change in handle position is usually all that is needed to get the desired resistance. They feel like a cross between the constant tension of a cable matchine and the balance of a db.

I'll definitely check out those mag plates when they're restocked.

Great review. It adds a lot to see the internal adjustment mechanisms.
