What’s up guys! In this video I compare the Core Home Fitness Adjustable dumbbells to the Ativafit Adjustable Dumbbells. I go over why I prefer and think the core home fitness dumbbells may be a better choice than the nuobell flexbell adjustable dumbbells for most home gyms. I also speak on my experience with Ironmaster dumbbells, Bowflex 552, Yes4all and some safety and convenience issues I’ve experienced with them. I will be getting the nuobell flexbell adjustable dumbbells soon to do a real comparison and let you guys know what I think!

just ordered the nuo's .. and have the same concerns as you mentioned.. 80lb dumbbells in a relatively weak(er) form factor makes me worried. but decided to bite the bullet and see how it goes. they are expensive but easier pill to swallow compared to the space/cost of individual dumbbells. i almost bought the ironmasters... but glad i didn't now that i've heard your take (and someone else in the comments). thx for the review.

With all due respect, I would first get a pair of 80lb Nuobells before claiming that the Core dumbbells are better. Both of them you can't drop, period, so no advantages or disadvantages there. Placing the Nuobells back in their "holders" is not difficult at all unless you're being careless, which applies to just about any adjustable dumbbell. Now, as far as savings are concerned, do you know how much a pair of 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, and 80 lb dumbbells will cost you these days? I'm sure anyone who is setting up a home gym this year knows! The money savings alone makes the Nuobells a superior choice IMO for those wanting to save on space and money. Get yourself a pair of 80 lb Nuobells and a pair of Ironmasters that go to 120 lbs (that's my current setup). Because the Nuobells go up to 80lbs, you won't have to waste time with the Ironmaster DBs going below 75 lbs, and you can just focus on setting up the weight between 85 lbs and 120 lbs. Less space, less money, and weights that go to 120 lbs, which is more than plenty for even serious bodybuilders. Get the Cores if you don't want to lift more than 50 lbs, period.

I wish the Core Home Fitness would go up to 60 that would be perfect especially with the design advantage on how you rack them after use

I have IronMasters, yours must be defective. Mine are perfect and never had any safety issues. They lock easy and quick and secure. Thanks for the review, I kind of want to get the core for convenience for lighter weights.

Nuobell 80lbs has been awesome for me so far. You're spot on, you do need to be careful when using them.

Thanks for this I just got the cores for my son's for Christmas. I personally have a set of the old school hex dumbbells.

I have both the ironmasters and the powerblock pros. I agree with you the ironmasters are such a bitch to change. And clanking them together will loossen the lock, I experienced it. Luckily they did not fall on my face. I kinda keep them at a fixed weight, they do feel the best. Then I use powerblocks for weight changes they are safer lol. I would never buy bowflex dumbbells ever again. I had them and they broke. too many small intricate plastic parts. It's such a bad design. Great review as always.

Matt, Really appreciate the breadth of your comparisons and comments that touched on the various brands! I won a set of adjustable dumbbells from work, where I can select either the Bowflex 52.5 option or the Core Home Fitness. Prior to your review and GamerBody review, I was leaning towards Bowflex. No, it seems clear that I'll be opting for the Core Home Fitness set. Love the compactness, in that they are only as long/bulky as the weight you're lifting...compared to Bowflex and others that have a bulky, rattling-like frame when you do not have the weight in the carriage maxed out. I noticed this as a major pet peeve in using my NordicTrack adjustables that were included as an incentive to buy my treadmill. I also loved and agree with your recommendation, that if you're going to be lifting more than 50+ lbs for dumbbell exercises, adjustables may not be the best option. Again, thank you! I subscribed and look forward to more reviews. Keep it up! and Live strong.

Ironmaster and Core Fitness - but we've had this conversation before. The 120# add on kit for Ironmaster is amazing.

For me smaller the plates the better is in terms of mobility options. But between both theres not such of a difference. Also i hate those ironmaster square plates due to the fact that if it drops on you the sides hurts more, and since i do a lot of failure sets im always hitting my chest, legs, shoulders and even the head once in a while when doing triceps over the head lifts. At least isnt toblerone plates.

After watching all the adjustable dumbbell videos we ended up buying these as well. Awesome set compared to my nephew’s Bowflex 552’s. Thanks again for all the vids Matt!

I say Powerblocks are the best deal since they're the most affordable dumbbells and are long lasting. I've heard of people having the older models for over 10 years. They also have 5 year warranty compared to other makers only providing 2. And the 90lb option is a good enough weight for most people.

Core Home Fitness I've seen reviews of people claiming the dumbbell plates are hold by some type of glue substance? So I can imagine the life span won't be as much as PB's or even Bowflex probably. But that's just an assumption. They are however, the most convenient dumbbells out there. The biggest problem for me is that they only have a 50lb option.

Nuo's are kinda a ripoff. You're paying $750 for only 80lbs, when you can get Bowflex 90lbs for $650 or PB Elites for $570 - 90lbs.
