No, the story doesn't begin on Geonosis. It begins on Coruscant, where Sideous TOLD Dooku exactly what to say to see if he could turn Obi-Wan to their cause and then kill him or use him as a puppet and then kill him. Palapatine played his entire life, rise to power, and what would happen in the future like a psychic chess master. He could see the future that the Jedi could not see because the Jedi were clouded by the darkside and he was fueled by it. It is how he beat the ENTIRE Jedi Council. If you are going to make a channel that talks to and about Star Wars Lore...you have to understand the lore.

Anakin used the wrong criteria, when deciding to bring Ashoka along. He correctly categorized her as competent. But when faced with multiple attackers, his wisest plan would be to take out the weakest one first. The danger for her is not that she doesn’t know how to fight. She’s probably one of the most experienced combat Jedi currently alive. But as the weakest Jedi in this fight, she has a giant bulls-eye on her chest.

Of course, Siddious would play with them a bit, at first. But when that gets boring, he would focus on her. And her death becomes another attack, since both Obi-Wan and Anakin treat her like a kid sister, her death is traumatic in itself… “my kid sister just died”… but wrapped up in the kid sister relationship is an exaggerated urge to protect her from harm, and her death means they have failed as older brothers. That will mess with their morale. As will the grief at her loss.

Unfortunately for Siddious, while Obi-Wan gets put off his game, Anakin isn’t as squeamish about playing with the dark side, so her death actually gives him a power boost.

Which is my long-winded way of saying “cool story, bro”. At no point did I get hit with “that action is not in line with the canonical character”. Everything is in line with the characters. Even their mistakes are in-character. I was able to immerse myself in that universe and criticize the characters actions.

Why should Anakin hesitate? Especially with Ashoka at his side and his fear of losing the people closest to him? That makes no sense. We have seen that he was the one to be most likely to kill someone that prooved to be evil towards him. And he even in a brink of a minute thought about attacking Palpatine when he understood that he is Darth Sideous. The only thing stopping him was the idea that Palpatine is the solution to saving Padme. But without the thread of her dieing, there is no motivation for Anakin to hold back.
