Windows 8 was ahead of it's time. In 2012, touchscreen laptops were very underrated, and barely manufactured. Microsoft was expecting everybody to have touchscreens.

I am sorry that Windows 8 was kicked out of the house, but I love Windows 8 and 8.1 very much because I have been using them for many years and I feel nostalgic every time I see them, especially every time I see the start menu, I go on a real nostalgia walk😢(I am currently using Windows 10)

There's a meme that every other version of Windows is bad, but really, it's that Windows users reject every other change. Windows XP was loved because it was the first Windows for many users, and they hated Vista because, well, it wasn't XP. It had too many changes, and people rejected those changes. When 7 came out, everyone loved it because it wasn't Vista. Then 8 came out and everyone hated it because it wasn't 7. Then Windows 10 came out, and everyone loved it because it wasn't 8. Now Windows 11 is out and, well, you can see how this is going.
