This worked for both the Gameboy Color and the Gameboy Advance and the Gameboy Advance SP. By using different button combinations you could change the color palette to an assortment of color palettes for the original Gameboy games.

The Gameboy color will actually do the same thing with an original Gameboy game using the d pad and if you want you can use combinations of a and b with the d pad for more colors

Game Boy color and Game Boy advance can give original game boy DMG cartridges and assortment of color pallets since the games were originally designed for monochromatic screen

Yes the color palette can be changed by pressing different button combinations on original Gameboy games.

When i was a little lad i knew about the stretch screen playing some fighting ninja game but i didnt know about the color change good times 🥲

That use to come in handy when you had pokemon red or blue and didn’t have the move flash to go into the cave you could turn the screen to the black setting and you could see everything in the cave

Yes it can. I don’t remember the combo but you can set it to the normal colors of black and white.
