Might just be a reshelled sp, they're getting pretty common these days as people want to reshell the heavy played SPs.

This video hits harder when you know they destroyed an incredibly rare SP they thought was a counterfeit recently.

Just a reshell…. Nothing wrong reshelling a heavily played and loved GBA

Except this is clearly a real GBA SP with aftermarket shell, not a "counterfeit", lol

Quite a large difference between a counterfeit and a reshell. As someone who has done many reshells for all systems, it’s a common practice to breathe new life into a beloved original with all original and official components.

The other day I went to Taco Bell and they had counterfeit tacos they just didn’t crunch the same

But you destroyed two GB Advance SP iQue edition by claiming they were fake.

I'm sure it's just a reshelled SP. The plastic on the SPs is deteriorating and becoming very brittle. They're basically all going to need to be reshelled to be actually used in the next few years.

Look, this channel’s content is neat, but there are tons of minor inaccuracies in the way info is presented. That SP is most likely a re-shell of a legitimate console, not a 100% fake. The GBA SP’s hinge was notorious for having a less-than-stellar durability, so a lot of people have re-shelled their SPs so they have an unbroken unit. Not the same as being counterfeit at all.

I have never once seen a "fake" GBA SP....

It's probably just a cheap shell. I replace shells on all mine, and do ips screen upgrades.

The fake one seems to be a refurbished system with a generic shell.

If it plays megaman battle network I could give less of a rats ass honestly if it's fake or not lmao

Are you sure it wasn't re shelled into an after market case? I've re shelled up game boys that I find at garage sales and all shells come from CHINA with some being high quality and some low quality. In order to really tell if a fake is to always check the motherboard inside.

Having grown up from the era of game boy SP, I honestly wouldn’t care if it’s original or not, I just want it to play the games.

There's a difference between a non nintendo shell and a "counterfeit gba"

It's fine they are reshelled sps to fix hinges or to customize... The hardware is likely legit and you can reshell to customize to your liking later... It's extremely common and shells are cheap...
