It was amazing when it came out. I remember the first time I saw mine. I would open, close, open, close over and over again. Was amazed by the backlit screen, the design, the feel. I never thought it would hold up so well after all this time.

My dad broke my first SP in a fit of rage for the dumbest of reasons. Years later I now have (in no particular order) 2 GBCs later modded with front light LCD/IPS screens. 4 GBA SPs and. 2 standard, one ripcurl limited edition and one modded with front light LCD/IPS screen.

I bought one recently. I used to have one as a kid but my mom sold it and all my games to be able to buy me a DS. Now as an adult with adult money, I’m buying them all again. The SP truly is peak Gameboy. It plays every game boy game ever and isn’t region locked. The options are near limitless with the amount of games there are.

My favorite game boy is the game boy color. I’m planning on ordering hundreds of them when I win the lottery and I’ll have a full museum of every game boy color I could get. I’ll also be collecting all the other Nintendo, consoles and handheld. I could get as well such as the Nintendo switch. I’m also going to do a Apple collection, too.
I’m gonna buy all the Nintendo products I can when I win the lottery and purchase a new house . I’ll make the whole museum kinda like you did!

Imagine if the 3DS got a successor called the Nintendo HDS, and the much like the original DS (or DS Lite), there are 2 slots of video-game cartridges: The Top DS Slot (which supports both DS and 3DS game-cards), and the Bottom GameBoy Slot (which supports every cartridge that the GBA SP does).

The GameBoy Light from 1998 that released in Japan had a backlight in it. This was released only a few months apart from the GameBoy Color, and was thus unreleased in other countries.

I agree, the clamshell design made this even more fun, portability was optimal, you could slap your favorite skateboard stickers on it no problem, it was just ideal. lol *(looks over shoulder at foldable led displays on mobile phones currently)*
