GBC game in Original Gameboy?

Just ordered a clear gameboy with a USB C mod! Would love to see a video of the mod.

If you put it in the Gameboy pocket, you will get a screen saying that the game is for Gameboy color

I had the og Gameboy and my mom bought me zelda links awakening dx for it. It worked long enough for me to get established in the game. Then all of the sudden it didn't.

I have a gameboy pocket
And I tried to put gameboy color game in it
And it said that the game is made for gameboy color and you have to put it in a gameboy color
(Something like, I did that in the last month as I remember)

Tried to do this all the time as a kid with my friend’s gbc games on my gameboy. I’ve always wondered if you cut off that notch would it work though 🤔

Believe it or not, some game boy color games give you weird messages when you do this.
(Old GB gbc gba and gba sp player here)
I have played all GB EXCEPT mini but because they are too rare and I was living in Cuba back then so you could imagine how rare was that, well, at least I saw it on my Pokemon crystal magazine)

The notch was for stopping kids from pulling out the game while playing it

Well you can do it with pokemon crystal but after you put it on it says “this game works only on gameboy color”

It's just a piece of plastic, you could cut that and find out
