I just bought a Sony A7III and this is the lens I went with as well. I actually didn't even get a kit lens as I was stretching my budget. I wanted a kind of do it all lens that would give me a lot of use in a lot of situations until I could save up to get some additional lens. I did a lot of research and it is good to hear you landed on the same thing I did.

I totally agree. For events/weddings I use the 24-105. Sony let's you get away with it. I've even used the 18-105 at weddings.

Nice answer.I agree with however I, for my self am waiting for tamron 28-75/2.8 to Fix it's issue. Not everyone seems to be having the problem....but a Working lens is a professional's choice.You yourself said in the tamron video that the 28-75/2.8 lens is actually sharper than the 24-105/4g lens...

People get hung up on 2.8 vs f4.... With new bodies f4 is the new 2.8. Having owned the 24-70GM I am shocked at how sharp the 24-105 is in comparison. It's a stunning lense and I am keeping mine. Very useful with great image quality. And no I do not miss the 24-70 2.8GM. Now my 16-35GM? That's another story... It's incredible

I have this lens on my A7iii and it is a perfect lens for weight, size and range to shoot all day for events with rarely feeling a need for another lens. I sold my 24-70mm f2.8 and a few other lens in that range.

Wow. Tons of comments here. In short, I agree 1000% percent. It's been a great lens for me for shoots around France, England, Spain, Iceland and Morocco the last few months. I didn't think I'd love it as much or be using it as much as I do. I'm basically leaving my primes at home most days now as the 24-105mm does 90% of what I need to shoot. The 35mm 2.8 Zony ends up coming with me most trips because it's so small and the 14mm Samyang 2.8 mostly for astro and some interiors where I just want to get a little wider. Honestly though... for the stuff I do... this is probably all I really need. So yes, the perfect 1st lens for the vast majority.

Cool vid. For A6000/6300/6500 I'd recommend the 18-105. Cheaper and very similar.

A 24-105 F4 which worth a EF 24-70 F2.8. Good choice.
