Burnt Laptop Repair Nightmare You Won't Believe! #shorts #laptoprepair

12 years old, that is the age of this monster relic that was shipped in to me. This laptop shorts the charger and really is not worth fixing, but the customer begged me to look at it. So, I removed the motherboard, and I started to smell of burnt chips. I think this should an quick fix because most of the damage is on this $10 daughterboard.

But first let me clean up the connector on the motherboard and check it under the microscope, plugged it in and there was a huge fire ball, but this did not make me quit for some reason. I went ahead and replaced the connector then saw that there were multiple other chips that were burnt and so I gave up.

I know people will give me a hard time for even taking a look at this Dell XPS L702x from 12 years ago, but the customer shipped it in to us and spent money to do so. I at least had to look at it, right? Don't you agree?

BTW: In the end, I told the customer it was not worth fixing and I shipped him back his hard drive at no charge.

I have one of these L702Xes and i loooove it, previous owner complained of artifacting Video so i merely just took it apart and wow! It was dusty... new thermal paste and a factory reset (yes the original drive still works) and shes running perfectly.

Makes an excellent Dolphin emulator

I had the L502x model of this I fixed a few years ago, I replaced it for something lighter but it was still quick and had the best speakers I think I’ve ever heard on a laptop. I miss it

i had the same laptop until a year ago, updated to asus vivobook tho, diff in perf was crazy, altho it was a great laptop
