ABOUT LAW & ORDER
Created by Emmy Award-winning producer Dick Wolf, ""Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,"" now in its 24th season, is the longest-running primetime live-action series of all time.

This hard-hitting and emotional series from NBC's ""Law & Order"" brand chronicles the lives of the Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department, an elite squad of detectives who investigate crimes of sexual assault, child abuse and domestic violence.

As commander of the SVU, Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) is a seasoned veteran of the unit who has seen it all. Her team includes Sergeant Odafin ""Fin"" Tutuola (Ice T), Senior Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and the newest member of the squad, Detective Joe Velasco (Octavio Pisano). Assistant District Attorney Dominick ""Sonny"" Carisi (Peter Scanavino) brings a fresh outlook to his cases while navigating the politics of the DA's office.

The thing that I don't like about this scene is that IMO Carisi should have been allowed a great deal of latitude because I didn't see it as a stunt. It seemed to me like an extremely legitimate line of logic to go down to prove that the witness couldn't see in the dark at all.

CariSi’s detective experience most of the time helps him win cases.

The good thing about a Law and Order series is that you can take a few decades off, return, and find it still going strong.

She's been obsessed with Zoey since college. It's obvious their one time college fling meant more to her, but she should've been honest with Zoey about how she felt about her. Not SAing her and impregnating her against her will. She also should've been honest with her husband as well.

Sonny Carisi is truly one of the best examples of character development! He’s AMAZING!!!

The judge and the defense attorney berating Carisi is ridiculous, especially after the Judge allowed him latitude. Like I'm sorry but what "patience for his antics" is the Judge talking about? He was literally only doing this for ONE minute before she asked the bailiff to turn the lights back on. Also to be fair, if I remember correctly, the defense attorney opened this door.

This is a Rafael Barbaesque move, wise and excellent to catch a predator.

And at one time Carisi wanted to quit thinking he's not good enough on one particular case Olivia told him you got this changed his course now becoming a great Lawyer

Carisi is SO badass! And I love how Liv is always about the victims; you could feel how sympathetic she was.

Okay but Barba, Novak, Cabbot and the rest of amazings ADAs we've seen on this show had more on screentime than Carisi, he deserves better, he is good and we deserve to see his growth 🖤

Defense: Objection! Judge: I’ll allow it for dramatic effect.

I feel bad for the husband richard in this moment, Knowing that his wife of ten years was in love with someone else, She cheated on him. Lie to him and and Prayed upon her best friend's feeling to try to impregnate her without even knowing about it all because she had feelings of our own that she was not able to explain Nor communicate, she's definitely not well in the head. Especially when the only term she acknowledged Her husband was when the lights were on and she saw his face And only admitted to her mistakes when she was faced with the reality of her consequences.

if a Lawyer tried this in a real court room in real life they'd be tripping over or walking into things XD

ive been married to my wife for 20 years, and after the first 5 years i could recognise my wife without being in the same room just by hearing her walk, it may sound like any random persons walking, but i know my wifes walk better than i know my own face in the mirror, and that was after 5 years, if this women couldnt recognise her husband in the dark after 10 years of marriage she never loved him once in her life

I'm a law student now and watching SVU has changed for me. Also, it's kind of funny that my professor also worked as a detective in our county's SVU unit before pursuing law.

0:50 If the court stenographer can still continue to write the reports - in total darkness, keeping up with the conversations - that is impressive.
