If this is something we paid into from our salary (of which we paid taxes for), why do we have to pay taxes on the moneys received for said concept ? Currently, there is a federal $300 per week, yet I am not getting any of that due to the supposed fact that I depleted my corresponding amount of said benefit, is that correct ?

If I am a college student and I get layed off of my university campus job every summer and winter, should I apply for unemployment for those breaks? I make less than 12k a year at job
