The Sun will eventually become a red giant, and life on Earth will go extinct. But will humanity go extinct too?
Probably not, because there are ways to stop the Solar System from dying. By colonizing space, we can save the Solar System.

he too said that its much easier to save earth rather than transport 8 billion humans to another planet

I think we'd have two additional tasks unrelated to the sun to keep Earth habitable. 1) stabilize the moon's orbit so that it doesn't recede so far away that Earth's axial tilt is disrupted, and 2) find a cope with the fact that Earth's core will solidify and stop generating the magnetic field that protects us from solar radiation.

I'm so glad you finally were able to make this video. I've shared it with my family and friends. I've never been comfortable with the idea of abandoning Earth to its eventual destruction, and fleeing to an "Earth 2.0". Earth is not a disposable commodity. Earth is my home. Earth is OUR home.

I recall another method that could be used to extend the Sun's main sequence phase. Using giant space mirrors to reflect some of its light back onto itself thereby recycling some of its energy. This in turn would cause the rate of fusion in the core to slow as less "new" energy is needed to counteract gravitational pressure.

I love this Earth just the way it is, and as far most life is concerned we were all designed for the bright white light of the sun, the blue skies, and green flora on this world and this world alone, thus preserving it makes the most sense. Let's hope that Sol Invictus can become a reality some day. For there is never another place like home.

This is based on an extremely optimistic outlook on humanity and its descendants. We first have to sort out the problem of us potentially destroying ourselves before we can have a realistic shot at saving the solar system. In fact, discovering the principles that would make us survive long-term is the key to unlocking the ability to do these more grandiose ambitions.
