Why You Should NOT Fear Death

Memento mori: (Latin) remember you must die.
Regularly confronting the thought of our mortality is not a morbid act that we should run from. It is something we should embrace, fore it has the power to bring us to life.

Is the fear of losing all that life has to offer.

The fear of not being able to think forever and ever and that we won't be able to remember this life forever is truly the most scariest thought in the world.

I often think about death when I’m going to sleep and it’s absolutely terrifying lol. Like the fact we are all gonna die and will NEVER exist again is absolutely daunting

My father was in hospice care in our home. He was 88 and his health was deteriorating quickly. At one point, he said, "I'm not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens". I had nothing clever to respond with. He ended up dying in his sleep around 2 AM. No drama. He just stopped breathing.

I've realized most don't actually fear death. They just fear the unknown idea of where people go after death. They also fear the idea that once you die, there is no coming back😢. If we knew for sure where we go after death, No one would have ever feared death.

We "die" every night when we fall asleep. We no longer exist to ourselves especially if we have dreamless sleep and we welcome this rest. We have practiced it every night. Be at peace.

The thought of death saddens me, instead of frightening me. There will be a last time I hear music, a last time that I laugh, a last time I spend time with someone that I love. That idea is really quite sad.

The only thing that brings the slightest amount of calmness to my mind about dying, is that I like to believe that I will be with my family again. We are bound to each other, so we will be with each other again after we die. But sometimes my mind still wonders and all it thinks about is that everything we know, the things around us, the thoughts in our minds, the world we’re in, will just disappear. Everything will turn to black and it’s all over. Just emptiness. I’m not scared of how I will die, or the pain I will feel, or anything like that, I’m scared of what comes afterwards. It is the most terrifying feeling I have ever experienced. It cripples me every day. Especially at night. I just want to turn this fear off and live my life peacefully.
