That was a beautiful Shema. You could hear him pour his heart into every word. Baruch HaShem!

The similarities between the Jewish, Byzantine and Islamic chants are so clear and beautiful.

I never realized Israelis had the same musical style as ours. This is called the Hijaz maqam. One of the catchiest set of notes on the planet that are very good for spirituality and a feeling of a spiritual high.

It's stunning to hear this not only because of the authentic tunes used but because an authentic Mizrahi pronunciation is also used.

Shema Yisrael (שמה ישראל), sung in an ancient tradition. This Chazzan is well trained at a Yeshivah (seminary). I am Ashkenazi and I could follow every intonation and word. I also listen to Sephardi prayers. The old traditions must never disappear because they are a link to our past.
I am so grateful that YouTube algorithms sent this to me.

I thought he looks and sounds like an Iraqi (I'm from Iraq), then noticed that's what the description says.
A couple months ago I saw a short video for Iraqi Jews (the few remaining) lighting candles in Baghdad for Hanukkah, and was also thinking even though he was reading in Hebrew, but also sounded very Iraqi.

Lots of love to the Jewish people, and to anyone reading.

This is what I've been searching for. A recitation of the Hebrew Bible that packs the passion & love for The Most High into the message being conveyed. Wishing peace to those who remember The God of Abraham the best way they know how....Ameen. (❤ USA)
