Come join us, as we adventure down to the beekeeping road! This is our very first NUC installation, and it seemed to go quite well for us. The bees are thriving, and we've since located our queen, and found a lot of eggs being laid in the new frames. If you have any advice for us after watching this video, please share it in the comments below. We are new keepers, and will appreciate any and all advice you veterans may have for us!

Hello, thanks for the videos . I'm getting back into beekeeping next year with just a single hive. Yet I know i'll expand to two quickly. Excited, nervous, anxious, and happy. I was a keeper 20 years ago with 5 hives and never lost the passion and interest for bees. I have a fear of getting stung yet that will pass after my first sting. For the past 10 months, in preparation, I have read books, watched countless hours of youtube videos, called and spoked with over 40 beekeepers, and am now a encyclopedia for bees. I'm so prepared. Experience now will set me free.

Now that I've discovered you, here I am all up in your face the same night! Feel like I keep discovering things we have in common, I've raised and kept bees for the last 15 yrs, here in western KS! I understand your hesitation in adding another hive. Hopefully, you've added or grown more hives since 2018! Sure gives you more resources, if you have problems! You're doing fine, by the way....

We've had our bees for about a month, and man it has been a fun adventure! I've learned there's about 100 ways to do the same thing! I saved my wax nuc box as a swarm box!

Todd, from my perspective that is a very nice bee set up, and the bee outfit was very clever, too. Loved the video!! 😊

Installing a nuc looks way easier than a package of bees. Lol. Ive bee studying a lot on sustainable beekeeping. Id recommend looking into it as well. Micheal palmer is a name who is well known in the sustainable beekeeping world. Best of luck this year

Cool... bees like to chase me .. we dont get along too well. Be careful.. have you looked into beeswax from them too? I know you ( Rachael) make soap, i wonder how lip balm and the such would turn out ? Going to be so great for all your yummy garden goodies!

Great video! I’m looking at getting into beekeeping in the next couple years. The main challenge here is that I will be building everything myself with local materials. Fortunately, there is a local NGO called Liberia Pure Honey that doing a great job training people and developing the honey market here.
