I owned an import shop during the time the Evos hit the US. I bought a new 05 RRed Rs with urban jungle package.
There is a huge difference between Rs and Gsr/MR.
If you turn the wheel full lock and dump the clutch the RS will spin you 180 degrees and launch you in the opposite direction.
A non RS will only understeer you into the ditch along side the road...
Also without Abs allows you to threshold brake much more effectively with aggressive pads and tire compounds than an Evo with ABS.

Very good video, you have my like and subscription, but I have some questions about the US 8RS evos, aren't the American 8RS supposed to not have an aluminum roof? Or is it that there were 2 RS versions ??? the diffuser came OEM ?? the generator vortex was also OEM ?? (It was not supposed that they were the US IXRS that had a vortex, diffuser and aluminum roof) or is this version that you have of RS equivalent to the 8MRRS ??

The standard evo doesn't have an open diff.. it got a torsen diff in the front

Will, since you have 3 cars do you list your evo as a “pleasure” or “classic” to your insurance? Or do you just carry full coverage?

I own a 04 rs and I have owned it for the last 7 years . And right now I'm looking to buy another evo 8 and I kno that the 05 comes with ACD . I've never driven an evo with ACD my question is is it a noticeable difference that the non ACD and is it really worth having ? I dont track my evo rs or evan daily the car it has 609 whp I've only drive it when it's nice weather (3000 miles in 7 years) just wanted ur option thanks for the evo videos and keep them coming .
