I'm having issues with my desktop not opening, I can see in a small window that it logs me in and even shows the desktop but it just refuses to pop up and there doesn't seem to be a clear way or a simple way to manually open it.

I come from a Windows laptop background. Never really made the leap to Mac as I wanted laptops I buy to be useful for both work and personal development in the Data Engineering area for my consulting work.

But seriously thinking about getting the Mac Mini M4 or M4 Pro, if I can use Windows 11 for work and learning using Parallels seamlessly. I am not a heavy gamer or don't do creative (audio/video) work. But I want to do work on Data Engineering day to day and have sandbox VMs for learning in data engineering and related AI/ML areas.

I know a lot of your viewers will care about ease of setup of Parallels vs Fusion, but to me, I want to know about differences in performance or compatibility when running games. I understand that Crossover is often preferred, and I use Crossover when I can. But a lot of people think "emulation is emulation" and it's trickier than that. Different options can have different performance implications. And emulator providers don't really do a good job putting info out about which OpenGL and/or Vulkan and/or DirectX versions and extensions they support. So every time I click a video like this, I hope I'm gonna be told whether it's worth upgrading from my Parallels 17 license to the latest vs. continuing to use Fusion, and all I get is "Parallels is easier to use!" and, to me, that's not super helpful. I want to know what's better, not what's easier or what's cheaper.

Im thinking about using parellels on my M3 Macbook ultra (64gb ram). Specifically so i can use a golf software called GS Pro which is exclusively for PC. Paralelles users in the past have had limited success running GS Pro wondering if this new version of parlelles will work well with GS Pro before I go down that route? TIA
