My mom works for the architecture firm that redesigned Hotel Parq Central. They don't like people to spread ghost stories about the hotel, but I know some people that stayed there back when it was an institution. I've heard their stories and it gave me goosebumps.
Also, it's pronounced Kee-mo, not Kai-mo.

The St. James hotel was first built in 1872 not 1972.

I've stayed at the Hotel Parq... I've seen a woman in the main area. She came off the elevator and then shot up thru the ceiling. Both myself and the manager saw her.
There were two other things that happened to us while we were there...

I was hoping she'd mention the Historic Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas NM.

I’m was born and raised in New Mexico. Thanks for giving my hometown a shout out. Even they are about the most haunted places here. My dad was a patient at the hospital which is now known as The Hotel Parq Central. I wish he would have said he heard are saw something’s happening there😜
And it’s pronounced Kee-mo not Ky-mo😣

My close friend was a patient when it was a mental institution and claimed all of the patients were deathly afraid of the elevators and wings. Most of the workers didn’t believe everyone when they were scared so I’m glad number 5 was included because he has some stories from there.

Awesome to see you making a video of my home town! 💕 Just a side note Kimonos pronounced the same as "chemo" therapy.

There is also the highway that used to be called 666 in NM. Very creepy stories from that road.

I worked a security gig at the Kimo in the 90s and when I inquired about bobby as I gazed upon the old donuts and toys left in the shrine, a cold breeze hit me. When I turned around I observed an old man holding a broom. He told me, "that was bobby just now!"

My brother, as an eleven year old, was at the Kimo when the boiler exploded in 1951. The young boy who was killed by the accident did not die on the scene, but died at the hospital a number of hours later. My brother told me that the explosion occurred just as the first movie of a double feature had finished, and some youngsters, (the audience was almost all kids, ) had gone to the lobby to use the restroom or get snacks. Bobby had just entered the lobby when the boiler exploded, mortally wounding him. The second feature was cancelled, and the rest of the audience was evacuated through a side door, normally not used. I have performed at the Kimo many times, and though I have not seen any apparitions, it is not hard to feel a sort of heaviness in the building. I do not recall a fire happening at the Kimo, and the restoration was not as a result of a fire, but as a result of the city taking over the building. It is a landmark now, and in regular use.

I’ve been living in New Mexico for the last five years. And yes, this is a place full of spiritual activity and hauntings.

My friend was a patient in that mental hospital in early 90's. Me and his mom would go see him and I felt uncomfortable and scared because some of the other kids there has some serious problems with mental illness and some seem like they were possessed too, it was scary to see kids like that.

Kimo is pronounced Key-mo. It's a Native American name.

Does anyone remember the owl that always perched over the main entry at the Luna Mansion?! Maybe it was a pair. This was back in 1990.
