DEFENSIVE DRIVING SKILLS

Matthew was driving his Hyundai Accent in Circleville, Ohio when someone stopped their car in the middle of the highway.
This caused another car to veere into Matthew’s lane to avoid hitting stopped traffic. Matthew had to make his own evasive maneuver to avoid getting hit.

The thing about defensive driving when you do it long enough your forget what your doing it just becomes a habit, he was clearly expecting that car to move into his lane and prepared for it! Great job

When I drove semi with my husband, a car came in from a ramp so close in front of me that I could see into her back seat. I honked, she STOPPED. Thank god we weren't up to speed & we were light. No one rear ended me, & I didn't jackknife. I did throw my husband out of the bunk & into the back of the seats though. People just have NO sense!

This is what happens when everyone drives like an idiot and doesn't leave enough space in case something happens You're supposed to maintain a safe distance from the car in front of you in case of an emergency it's called proper driving

Man, on a freeway in virginia I was going 60 with moderate traffic, when suddenly, over a crest, I ran into heavy heavy traffic and a lot of cars slowing down. And the compounded delayed reaction of each driver ahead of me meant I didn't have much time to realise, but luckily I know how to ride my brakes to their limits and was able to stop in time. The car behind me, however had even less time to react. He avoided hitting me by being a pro with those brakes and steering off the road. He stopped with the front 2 feet of his car in line with the back 2 of mine, inches apart. I'm glad that there exists many surprisingly competent drivers on the road!

It also happened to me last year when a driver changed lanes without checking their blind spots, and my husband had to quickly move to the next lane.
Oh my gosh, my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest.

On the West Virginia Turnpike I was told by a WV Trooper that 72% of accidents involved Ohio Vehicles, they stay in the PASSING lane, they run 85 in the straights and drop to 40 in the curves, great folks, awful drivers!
