Defensive Driving Techniques – Avoiding Accidents by Anticipation

In this video, I show you a bunch of techniques I use to drive defensively against other drivers. Most of the techniques require you to be aware of your surroundings and to be able to anticipate what other drives might do. You’ll notice that most drivers are predictable on the road and most will do certain (not so bright) things all the time. These are the drivers you want to lookout for. If you use your anticipation skills, you’ll be able to avoid them and there by avoid getting into an accident with them. Anther main point of this video and when defensively driving, is don’t pace other drivers! Don’t have tunnel vision and drive like you’re the only person on the road! Pacing other drivers is a no no and you should avoid it whenever you can! Hope this video is helpful to you and thanks for watching!

“911 what is your emergency?”

“Hi I’m in a black car with a spoiler and some guy with a camera has been following me all over town for hours executing very safe driving maneuvers.”

My favorite tip to help is if your the last car in line at a dead stop on a highway or a light. And there’s cars coming up at a distance at full speed. Tap your brakes fast to make your brake lights flash. It will grab their attention that there’s cars at a dead stop

I'm 24 years old and I've avoided 15 accidents just out of instinct. I'd love to recieve compensation for car damages etc but I care too much about the other people in those cars who have a greater potential of dying due to their poor driving abilities

I’ve been driving like this for years. You have to drive for others now a days because people are too distracted and think they are the only one on the roads

Dope Vid, I've always wanted to make a similar video. Being aware is the only way you'll survive driving in the Bay area

Great video! Except you should never pass semi trucks on the right side. They have a much larger blind spot on the right side. I've even seen signs behind semi trucks that have an arrow that points to the left that says "pass" and an arrow that points to the right that says "suicide". Of course, sometimes, passing on the left isn't an option.
