Parts Master oil filter review

Parts Master oil filter, I was under the impression that these filters were cheaply made and had no anti drain back valve. Delighted that it was made better than I thought.

That is the older style. They were redesigned- or at least the ones I get were. The 51516. They feel lighter but were improved. The pressure release seems to be the better style that vents by the threads and not at the far side which could allow dirt held on the media to be flushed back in to the engine. Many filters including the Champ filters at Walmart have that worse style bypass.
Looks like a perfectly good filter to me. Its a filter, not a safe. Short fiber synthetic media would tear similarly too. When the media is in the cages, what is able to apply force at the angles needed to get the media to separate? Nothing.
