In this video, I share the six health rules I try to live by. These rules are based on my experience both in the clinic and in my own life, helping me stay active, strong, and healthy as I age. Whether you're just starting your health journey or looking for new tips to enhance your routine, these practical rules can make a big difference in your overall well-being.

Thanks. I used to stretch every morning. Now I just dust mop the house every morning with other chores.(Dog hair)I go to dance class twice a week & do care giving chores twice a week for a relative outside of my home. I’m also very active with my place of worship. I’m female & 73. ( My treadmill is idle 😐)

Ed, I'm Jack G. in the Chicago area. We did a few tele-sessions several years ago. I've been on a health journey ever since. Too much to put here, but here is my six. 74 y.o. male, 6', 170 lbs. Lift 3-4x / week, spin machine 2x / week, walk in nature 30 min. 7x/ week with 12 lb. weight vest, intermittent fast most days 16/8, high protein, low carb diet, VERY low sugar intake (only as an ingredient). 7-8 hrs. sleep. I take in wisdom literature almost every day, generally the New Testament.
Glad to see your influence is growing. All the best to you and Elizabeth.

THANK YOU for this video! Yours have been extremely motivating and helpful. I’m very interested to hear about your CAC test.
I’ve taken the idea of no days off as well, after seeing your videos from India! I was doing 7500 steps every day.. but then I got a smart watch!😂..so motivating! I’m now 12-13k steps per day..every morning I walk 8.5 k steps in an hour (I get up at 4:30 so I can have a little light snack and some water and coffee before heading out at 5:45.(gotta best the heat!)-(I throw in some countertop push-ups and squats before I go out. Three sets of 15-20 each.).. I tried to keep my pace steady at about 135 steps a minute. When I come back, I lay on the floor and do spinal stretches and a few exercises. After breakfast, I focus on one part of the body with weights at home. I live over an hour from a gym so that’s not an option for me now..
I’m 77 and 120 lbs… I have osteoporosis.. Which I am treating with good eating habits, impact exercises like heel drops and jumping, supplementation, etc. two years ago I gave up all added sugar, alcohol, and ultra processed food.
One shock was when I went to the doctor recently and had a blood test. Everything was perfect, except my LDL was very high! I was blown away. I’ll see what he says, but I would really like to try a few months of really kicking my diet into high gear by watching my intake-(eggs, meat etc)trying to keep my protein, high-aiming for 100 grams a day too! It is so frustrating after years of trying to do the right things!
How will you be addressing it?
Also, you mentioned mouth tape at night. What do you use? I’ve really been concentrating on my sleep since I’m using my watch at night and I have really developed a great system with timing and making sure that I am in bed and getting up at the same times, etc. .And I feel fabulous after that has improved! It’s amazing! But I live alone, and I wake up with a very dry mouth, so I have a feeling that I’m breathing through my mouth most of the evening.
Thank you so much for your time and all your wonderful advice! I get so much out of them. I use your book constantly as my reference for my exercises! It really is very clear and well done. Thanks!!

I’m 69 and have bone loss, but not osteoporosis. Should I walk with a weighted vest? I enjoy your book workouts! Thank you!

Hi Ed. Have you ever checked out Wellness Forum Health? an agency out of Columbus, Ohio. I appreciate the work you do and I supplement it with information from WFH.

I’m 5’2” and weigh 106lbs, can you suggest how much weight I should begin with and what my goal weight should be when using a weighted vest?

LDL Levels? Loathe acronyms. Dr Google to the rescue I guess. Walk 10-13000 steps and 30 minutes water aerobics to improve my osteoporosis including jumping in the pool.
