Are the Sons of God just Human Judges in Psalm 82?

Psalm 89 is really the death blow to the human view of Psalm 82. And the human view of a Divine Council. Because the language is the same as in Psalm 82. There are no idols ruling from the skies in a council. There are no Jewish elders ruling from the skies or in the skies in a council. Okay, this is patently absurd. And yet you will see this a lot in the academic discussion. Check this out!

This is one of the things I disagree with Mike Winger on. Dr Heiser shows that from the text it couldn't be talking about human judges. It's not a major issue but it's weird to me Winger thinks it's about human judges I don't see how you can pull that from the text in Psalm 82.

Jesus quoted Psalms 82:6 to the religious leaders. Compare the two verses side by side for understanding.
Psalms 82:6
6I have said, ‘You are gods;
you are all sons of the Most High.’b

John 10:34
Jesus replied, “It is written in your own Scriptures that God said to certain leaders of the people, ‘I say, you are gods!’

What does this mean?
'God' basically means 'Authority'.
This is why God recognizes other Gods but says there is only one God. There are many in position of authority over others but there is one Most High Authority they should all obey and follow and are accountable to- That's The Most High God's Authority.

Thank you for the insight. Ps.82 was always a difficult one to wrap my head around. In light of Ps.89 and someone teaching clearly and methodically what the Word says, it makes more sense.
