It is all ego for them. If they cannot have you it is proof to them that they are not superior to you. If you were never genuinely loved by someone who really saw you and loved you for who you are, you probably cannot love anyone. This is so sad. I talk to God about this. It feels as if it is a choice. If you get therapy and work on yourself, you can learn to love yourself and can love other people. Love is not about looks, fame, or fortune. To be raised to believe you are in this world to entertain and vie for the attention of others, is so abusive. If you do not get the attention, where are you? Involving yourself in a relationship with a narcissist in order to help them grow and feel loved will not help either of you. He will hate you for your love and kindness and, in time, with his or her hatred and mistreatment, you will end up losing yourself. We have to let go of these people and turn them over to God. For some people to be chosen, and not others, does not seem fair. God loves us all. We need to love Him back. Maybe narcissists had choices and over time kept choosing Satan over God. Only the narcissist can turn this around.
