Drinking a 8-16 oz water bottle every morning 30 on an empty stomach before breakfast, oatmeal for breakfast, steamed veggies with most of my lunches, yogurt for a snack and going on long walks everyday is what finally helped me with constipation. I no longer have to PUSH when on the toilet it just slides out smoothly. Goodluck everyone.

When I am even slightly constipated, everything gets worse. More body pain, more stress, more anxiety, worse sleep, more cravings, etc. I'd love for you to touch on how the gut/constipation affect these facets.

Informative video! I find drinking warm water regularly throughout the day helps with constipation. Hydration is so important in battling constipation. Prebiotics and probiotics help as well. For myself, cardio exercise and yoga help in addition to the others I’ve listed here.

I hate living with constipation. I get bloated, feel sluggish, and have no appetite. So I've been living on laxatives. Then I suddenly have to go really bad. I really cannot go anywhere because I have a phobia of pooping in a public place. It is a huge nuisance!

I adore my GI doctor. I had a massive gi bleed. MGH saved my life ❤️. I got liver cancer twice and finally a liver transplant 8 ½ years ago. Daniel Pratt played a huge role in my life. His caring and calmness went a long way.
What a beautiful person to get me through so much.
A shout out to intervention radiology and liver transplant doctors and team.

I eat 6 prunes a day and it's helped so much. I also juice fresh fruits and veggies. Juiced 1/2 red cabbage and 1 fresh pineapple cleared me out.

I've been living with constipation ever since i was a little child. It became worse as I grew older, and i must say, it comes with a lot of difficulties in my daily life. I can barely eat one square meal in a day now😢 it is really saddening to have to live in pain everyday

I've been consistently constipated for around 8 months now. All started from a mild batch of constipation, then quickly escalated and now I'm constantly backed up. Let me tell you, it is a TERRIBLE feeling when you can feel how blocked your insides are, but no relief is in sight whatsoever.

There's definitely a gut/brain connection because I used to have the most painful BM's I would dread every bathroom visit. Then I started meditating and within about a week I started having pain free BM's. I know there is some sort of connection there.

I have Mitochondrial Myopathy Disease & suffer badly from constipation. Two years ago it got so bad, I was scheduled for a colonoscopy yet due to Covid 19, my 30 day wait turned into still waiting for it in the Public hospital system that last year, my lovely Uncle paid for it in a Private hospital. I ended up having an internal prolapse, which I had never heard of before, inflamed stomach & an inflamed bowel. The prolapse was repaired though I think due to my disease, I will suffer from constipation for the rest of my life. (I'm 49).
Thank you Doctor for this insightful video.

Our stool are made up of around 75% of water content so... Where there is stool dry, there is constipation.
"The key thing is to don't let stool dry"

Excellent video & now subscribed too.
My issue has been going on for yrs but has increased a lot over the last few months (i'm 59). I was told around 10 yrs ago i have a lot of polyps but nothing was done.
I currently have to have a spoonful of Ducolax every 3 or 4 days, if i dont i get blocked & my back & sides hurt. My colonoscopy appointment ( which I've waited for for 6 weeks) has just been cancelled yesterday as their machine has broke !!!
Nowadays is not the time to be ill in the u.k.
