Even the ~340 Mbps you're getting from your USB 2.0 port is more than enough for any current content. Most streaming video is 20 - 60Mbps. Streaming 8k will supposedly be around 200Mbps. You'll buy a new TV long before that USB 2.0 bandwidth limitation affects you.

I'm surprised he didn't check the specs before buying a +$2000 TV if the 3.0 ports were that important to him. That TV just lost its value as soon as he opened it too 😬

The screen glare I can understand. The WebOS challenges... alright. The USB3 issue? No idea. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Ethernet adapter for Google TV runs at 100Mbit, same as the TV. High frame rate HDR 4k tops out at around 90Mbit.

340Mbit wasn't enough? What for?

$40 Chromecast with Google TV, Amazon Cube 3rd gen, or Dune-HD Homatics and some curtains. Never buy a "smart" TV for the "smart" features, they can't compare to even a cheap external steaming box. Best Buy open box deals are great on these last gen TV's right now too, I wouldn't pay full price since you can get the C3 that out perform the last gen G2 slightly.

If you have an older Xbox one S or X laying around Id highly recommend using one of those as a streaming media player especially if youre handy enough to crack one open and swap the internal HDD for an SSD, I did that with My One S that was collecting dust for years since I switched to PC gaming and the UI and loading times are super snappy, with Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3 for external drives! And they act as good 4k blu ray players as well. My one gripe is that it supports Dolby Vision for games and streaming apps, but not for 4k blu rays for whatever reason, but other than that its really nice

The only thing comparable to the g2 or even close to is the Sony a90j or a80k OLEDs. The g2 is one of the best tvs you can buy period, I don’t think I’ve ever seen 1 negative review on it tbh till yours.

So I used a USB adapter and I get 650mb now, but I notice no difference from the 100mb before. Doesn't do anything. Also, watching any tv during the day with no blinds with giant windows next to it, is always going to have glare. My room is dark for my G2 77, because that's the entire point of having a TV like this. What "many other manufacturers" give you this type of quality? Genuinely curious.

Do Americans not use curtains? Us here in the UK (where it only gets sunny 3 weeks a year) all use them

I guess most people don't know you can create app shortcuts in WebOS. For me, I have 1 -> YT, 2 -> YTTV, 3 -> Browser, 4 -> APPL TV, etc. Every time I open my LG CX, I go to the app I want to use using the shortcut. Super convenient.

The G3 doesn't have USB 3.0 or 1GB ethernet either. I can't find ANY TV that has 1GB ethernet.

Dude seriously reflection and USB?… if you want the most eye popping vibrant colors you need a super glossy display anything below that dims the picture. USB? Really? I’ve never used a USB port on a tv I just got the 65” C3 almost bought the G2 but because of a lack of stand, and no DTS passthrough I passed on it.

What is it you need a gig of Speed you need I have C1 with connected Ethernet and have never had any issues

Where is the link to the ethernet Adapter? Were you using 2.0.adapter or 3.0 one?
