Jon, I am finally decided to get the 83" G2, similar thought process you went through and I waited till the Black Friday pricing to get it in the better price range, I am coming from a Panasonic TC-P65ZT60 65-Inch which has done well for me the last roughly 9 years. As far as burn in, if you have the pixel shifting etc. functions on the tv you will be fine, I was the same way when I got my plasma tv and after all this time, no burn in and the occasional image retention (which I usually get from the static Roku menu or the Nvidia Shield menu), goes away within a minute of watching new content on the screen so you will eventually get over it. Can't wait for the G2 to arrive and I hope you are continuing to enjoy yours, cheers.

Perfect tv, C9 was maybe the best tv in last 20 years along with Kuro. That TV pionereed every core feature we have today in modern tv's.

I laughed when you said you hadn’t seen the G2 before purchase. I wanted to buy the 77” C2 but it wasn’t available in my area so I ended up with the 77” G2 without ever seeing one. Needless to say I’m satisfied. Sometimes I enjoy watching the Always Ready displays. Thanks for the review!

Have the LG G2 77' as well, great tv!
We went voor QLED first (samsung QN800b), but we were kinda disappointed for the image for that price (more than the G2). Also when our lights where on, the rainbow effect was really anoying. Less glance, refection, what was great. Although the rainbow effect was kinda the dealbreaker.

Very happy with the G2!
One thing, almost no one is saying about the 77' / 85' is that the cables don't go through the middle.. what was really a surprise when we first opened the box.
If you want to mount it, you have to make new holes in your wall.. Kinda strange design.
We managed to put 3 cables along the powercable.. so they come out the middle.. but normally this won't fit.
Really bad in my opinion, specially here in EU, where the walls are all concrete or brick, so no easy access like with wood.

I was already leaning towards the G2 because i didn't want to wait for a QD oled bigger size, but after watching your review since we both were on the same boat. Im definally going for the 77 inch G2! thanks.

Best Buy geek squad warranty is the only way to go. Don’t buy from Costco because even though you don’t have to pay extra for their warranty, it DOESN’T cover burn in. I’m a Shipt shopper and at Costco all day every day. When I see people buying oleds from there I usually try to inform them of this.

I find that install too high. I like the TV at least with a mount that lowers when I do watch it. Across the room...the height is fine as is, tho.

The 77 G2 is on sale at Best Buy for $3000 for total tech members. Woohoo! I have two 77 G2 tvs for the cost of an 83 LG G2 at $6000

Glad you could swing something this nice! Me personally will be in the market for 2nd or 3rd round of a flagship couple years down the row on Craigslist as I am done buying "bargain" sets on Black Friday - not only they don't last (I've already gone through 3 LG sets in the past 5 years - failed backlights, capacitors, etc.) but LCD or plasma flagship of yesteryear is still leaps and bounds better than bargain LCD setd produced today. Living champagne life on beer budget.
