I basically went through this same process of waffling on QD-OLED vs W-OLED. I ended up getting an LG G2 77" OLED, and I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. My main considerations were 1) new tech vs. established tech, and 2) available screen size. I was worried that there may be some issues with the new tech over the next few years, whereas LG has had a decade to perfect their OLED TV game. Even *after* my purchase, I was having some worries that I made the wrong choice, because QD-OLED did seem to *mostly* be living up to the hype. Ultimately though, I wanted a larger TV for the space I was putting it in, the LG G2 was *also* seeming to live up to the hype, and after having my G2 for a month, I'm so happy with it. It's just an incredible viewing experience, and as indicated in this review - it made movies/shows I've seen multiple times just a richer experience worth revisiting. Finally, my commentary on any brightness issues (without having any experience with QD-OLED other than on store displays) is that my TV is not only bright enough in brighter ambient settings, but it's honestly almost too bright in darker ambient settings. I find myself needing to tune my brightness down for certain content honestly. For my own viewing pleasure/experience, there's isn't a scenario where I would ever have the consideration "Do I need this to be brighter?" Take that for what it's worth.

Bottom line, I have zero regrets now, and would recommend this TV to anyone looking for a super premium home viewing TV experience. Thanks for all the great reviews/info!

I have had my G1 for over a year and I have had no complaints. It's not only a great panel but an elegant addition to my room ( I have surrounded it with varying sizes of artwork)

I think that safety is important and one should use double-protection technologies, such as Cross Staking !

What do I think of the G2? Well, considering I just bought a 77" G2, all I can say is that 'm absolutely over the moon with it. Coming from a 65B6 LG OLED and a Sony 75" X900F, the G2 is in a league of it's own. If you're in doubt of buying this TV, don't doubt any longer and just get it. You'll be amazed.

Just sent back a 2022 65" Samsung The Frame after 3 panel replacements due to highly inconsistent/damaged backlighting and I'm seriously thinking of hitting the buy button on this one. I probably should have gone with OLED right out of the gate. Thanks for the review. Very timely.

Bought the 77G2 from lg as soon as it was available in April. Replaced a 75Nano99 from last year, never was happy with it. Could not be happier with the G2. Had a free shipping to room of choice and free installation. Installed it with some help with my son the day it arrived, could not wait for the install guys. I have been watching No Time To Die 4K over and over and just say Wow ( Filmmaker Mode). I cannot believe this picture looks so good.

This wasn't mentioned in the review, but the reason the G2 can get much brighter than the C2 in HDR scenes is because of the heatsink. Prior G series models never had a heatsink. I think compared to the C2 or any other of their older models, it is worth the upgrade to the G2.

So to be honest, I’ve got a Samsung S95B originally, which turned out to be damaged from the factory with rows of dead pixels. It still worked, and looked amazing, but I sent it back and got the G2 instead. I do not miss the S95B. This thing is incredible. And in my use case (dark room), it’s insanely bright and looks phenomenal. Great review Caleb!

I mount my 77 inch G2 with my best friend later today and I am so excited. I've been watching this and Jon Rettinger's reviews to continue my hype levels. It's been a long time coming for my first OLED. Keep up the great work Caleb 🤙🏾 so close to 1 million!

Spend the last two weeks deciding between G2 and Sony A90j. Both 83". Finally found them side by side at oneof my local Best Buy Magnolia and both were awesome but I could definitely see better clarity and color looks much better for me on the Sony A90j. So ended up going with the 83" A90j Sony. Was a tough choice but since both were priced at $4800 I wanted to take my time with my choice. Tv will be installed on my media room that has no windows. If it was for my living room would definitely choose the LG G2.

These are all the comments I've been hearing that the LG G2 is awesome and probably the best OLED LG has ever made.

Recently, I pulled the trigger on purchasing a 77” LG G1 for half the price of it successor. I’m stoked, but quite certain the higher nits make for an even more visually stunning display. How I know, is because I see the world of a difference in the iPhone 13 versus my iPhone 12 Pro.

I’m waiting to see the G2 and S95B in store together before I decide. I was really impressed with both the C2 and G2 in person. I’ve never owned an Oled before and this will be a big purchase for me. I want something special and don’t want to be left feeling like I chose the wrong one. Both are amazing but I want to be blown away so to speak. Excited
