I’m currently 29 and went to visit my parents house for the first time and went to the room that used to be mine. When I tell you that I couldn’t remember or had no idea what the heck most things in that room were!! But my mom kept reassuring me that it was my stuff. She remembers past me more than I remember past me. So trippy and emotional!

I HATED my mirena IUD. Chronic back pain and my hair was falling out. Pain resolved within a few hours of having it removed. I also lost about 6 lbs of water weight within a few weeks. I hope you have a better experience, but don’t let your OBGYN gaslight you if you have side effects, it’s probably the IUD.

Having no period with the IUD gave me so much anxiety. The thought of having no idea if I was pregnant or not was too much… plus yes it really was so pokey. I ended up getting it out after a few months because it really made it uncomfortable for both of us. I hope it’s really a great experience for Abby

Yeah I am only 25 but can hardly remember who I was before I was married and had my kids. 😵‍💫🤯 Crazy how time flies and how much these things change us.

I am 36, have two children. My husband and i do not want anymore. I have an IUD and have a multitude of symptoms from it. I cannot have any other Contraception as i had a blood clot having my 1st child. And i got pregnant while on the pill with my 2nd. Unfortunately my husband will not even consider getting a vasectomy. Well done for talking about this now. It is important to have a plan longer term.

I have the Mirena IUD and still have my period, though its much lighter.
The one thing I've noticed is that my cramps are worse than before I had an IUD.
The thing is, I don't have it to prevent pregnany. I have it because I was experiencing very heavy bleeding every single day. For months. The IUD has been a God send!

Coming from an almost 33 year old… don’t wait that long if you want another baby 😂 the injuries I have sustained from birthing OY. I recommend getting it over with in your twenties and being able to “bounce back” a bit easier. The 30s change you. I still feel young, but my body needs a loooot more attention and love. Wish I would have started sooner

I love my iud I’m going for my third one next month! No period and truly the best birth control I’ve had ❤

I’d encourage you to really research before doing a vasectomy. It seems really simple and they market that there are no complications, but the risks and side effects are actually huge. My husband had his reversed after 7 years and is still dealing with many issues that may not reverse at all.

We’re not having any kids because I am 29 and my boyfriend is 41. He has a daughter who is 19 and I’ve just never felt called to be a mother, but I love my nieces and nephews so much just don’t want any of my own. I tried the iud before I had kyleena and it was awful. Irregular bleeding, moody as heck, waves of depression, & terrible migraines. Safe to say I was a hot mess. I’ve had the best experience with the bc pills I forgot what my gynecologist had me on, but light periods but the migraines were outrageous and stopped because I was so young and didn’t want to worry about taking them incorrectly. I was off of bc for a few years but my menstrual is too heavy, & achy so I am back on and I have nexplanon. Took some adjusting and I would just say gained some weight, but no periods. Once my boyfriend and I get married he has agreed to a vasectomy.

I have the kyleena IUD and I love it! Love having no period especially since I got it because of having intense pain and nausea every period

Something I think that everyone should know about the IUD is that it can work as an abortifacient. Instead of only preventing fertilization it can prevent the new human organism from implanting in the uterus, so it can cause an early abortion. I think that it is very sad that women are often not told this from healthcare workers.

Changing your entire identity to match your husbands and saying you wouldn't know who you would be as an adult without him isn't a good sign.

I also have an IUD. It was the best decision I have ever made for myself! I'm here if you have questions!

HATED my iud. I mean I loved that it kept me from getting pregnant but how much it changed me emotionally was really not worth it.

Best thing I've had but it did cause my bf to get sore until the strings soften down, I've not had a period since, was easy to insert after my babies but the 2 I've had without having a baby were really really uncomfortable, my last one was awful but I'd still replace it every 5 years.
