How I do my Bible Study.

I thought I'd make a video on how I 'bible study'. Yes, I use that word as a verb no matter how much my Grammarly wants to correct it. I hope this helps you guys be more confident when you sit down and try to study. Have a different method that you think might be helpful for others? Share it in the comments!

Keep in mind, this is more for casual and simplified Bible study. I think of the busy Mom (like me!) who had very little time to 'Bible Study' because I had so much to juggle, *especially* when my girls were smaller. (Praying for you mamas with littles!!) In a way, this habit was built during the time when my girls were smaller but I still insisted on getting in my Word.

I actually learn a lot from atheists, they find and complain on some wild things in the Bible that I didn't know was there. So then I do read and research and find out more about the Bible and the times of the Bible. It's good to ask "what's going on and why did that happen?" Befors going crazy on God.

As I work 8 hours a day, and my work is VERY VERY boring, I listen to AUDIO BIBLES and Audio Bible Studies. I absorb Info like a SPONGE in audio form, I have a horrible memory for actual written word. Hence why I am not a On Camera Actor, but rather I do Voice acting as well, you got the script in front of you at all times, no memory required BUT when it comes to The Bible, I love listening to CHUCK MISSLER DR WALTER MARTIN and a wise variety of others along with AUDIO book version of Bible Books.

That is for me, because I know my strengths and weaknesses when it comes to learning the Bible, and I love it. :D

As someone who is learning how to actually study the word of God better today then yesterday instead of casual reading time which sometimes I do too much. I want to study, remember, and discern the holy word and plant it on my heart and mind for all my days. We never know if and when the physical book can be snatched from us so if it's on your heart you will know the word to stand on for any occasion. Thanks 👍

Oh I'm not the only one who smells the Bible? I like book scents but none like a Bible. 😂😂 And i agree completely with reading multiple versions and comparing them and i keep a journal for the chapters.

I read the Bible with a dictionary. I want to know exactly what each word means. Wish I could read Hebrew and Greek. I love definitions.

I love how they deepen the meaning for me.
I believe it's impossible to truly know the Bible 100% fully without "digging" the way you do. That is truly a wonderful trait. Our culture is so different today, it's necessary. It's worthy to note--for just one example--that in the story of the prodigal son, it was very unusual, even taboo, for a father to run to anyone, exposing his legs and basically ruining his "dignity". It just wasn't done. Yet that father DID run. He ran to the son he had been waiting for (also unusual, as he was wealthy and would most likely have paid someone else to do the watching). When I learned those two little tidbits, that story came alive to me and it was even more amazing.

I test as a "Questioner" in the Four Tendencies quiz. I do make people a little crazy with all my questions. But I wouldn't have it any other way. 😉

Lol “handy dandy…notebook” reminds me of watching blues clues with my kids years ago.
I use way more colored highlights bc like you said sometimes something just pops out after reading it again, so a different color reminds me. Btw, love the shorter hair, it looks great.

Awwww I smell my Bible too lol…love it. When you showed your Bible writing’s I was so happy lol. I do the same thing! I have to write my notes in my Bible bc I’ll lose my notes or misplace them, so it’s better to just keep them in the Bible so I never lose them.

I wasted a lot of years doing Kay Arthur's study technique of circling and coding certain words. I guess it helped, but now I just read the chapter multiple times and stay in one book for a LONG time. Not downing Kay Arthur, it just wasn't my style. Thanks Melissa.

Love the nlt bible. It really speaks to me. I use the niv and esv study bible but the language in the NLT really makes it easy for me..
