I have been saying this lately. You have to look at the whole bible, not just snippets. That is why they cross references. Very important in a bible.

I’m 41 and just started my journey this year. It’s all so overwhelming but extremely rewarding.

This is the most amazing, important, essential, greatest piece of writing in the history of this world. We don’t just read the Bible, we have to study it.

I love Jesus so much. He is so good. Even on my worst days, He always loves me without condition. There is so much grace and mercy with the Lord. ❤

This is why it's so helpful to not just read individual passages in the Bible to get their individual meanings, but to read the WHOLE Bible <33

Lol that’s nice. She’s explaining reading ‘from far’ and reading ‘from near’. It’s essential we do both so we can understand scripture in context, and also in subjective revelation. But the mist important feature of scriptural understanding we shouldn’t forget is the Holy Spirit, the teacher himself. Very good point ma’am!

The repetition throughout is divinely poetic.

I’ve been reading the bible for the first time, i’ve read through Genesis and then skipped over to Mathew in the New Testament. Taking notes, looking up definitions, taking it slow and understanding what is written. It’s honestly amazing just through 2 chapters i’ve had my eyes opened. Almost every line of scripture is incredibly deep and true! Like you said in a past video, everything i was told about the bible so far has not been true. I love Jesus so much i cannot believe what he did for us ❤

If you're going to zoom out on Ruth, don't forget who Moab was. Back during the Israelite's journey through the wilderness it was the king of Moab who hired Balaam to curse the Israel (the whole talking donkey scene) and when he could only bless them, Balaam told the king of Moab that he could get the Israelites to curse themselves by lining the road with all the hottest babes in his kingdom and seducing the men of Israel into committing adultery.

And even before that, Moab is descended from Lot (Abraham's nephew). After the whole Sodom and Gamorra thing, Lot's two daughters despaired of getting husbands and so they got Lot super drunk and slept with him.

That's Moab. And yet, if you flip to Matthew chapter 1, there's Ruth the Moabite listed by name in the genealogy of Jesus.
God can take the ugliest and dirtiest people and redeem them and do amazing and beautiful things.

I am so thankful for you, for the passion the Holy Spirit put on you for His Word. I'm thankful that our heavenly father put you in my way.

Love the zoom out analogy. That's really good for present day terminology! For the nerds, it's called exegesis or exegetical theology, basically where you look at the whole context. Good stuff. ❤
