This should be turned into a television series with a half an hour or 1 hour story dealing with a particular god

It's funny that the gods hailed as hero's are the most vicious and the gods depicted as villains were the most fair and just ones

I feel like Thanatos helped people pass away because they were subject to all of the hardships that his sisters brought into the world. He might’ve just pitied humans when they were in pain or when they were so old that they couldn’t function and relieved their souls. I think his actions were less a duty and more of a gift when people were suffering. That’s my view on it anyway.

I like how Nyx kids just do not give a f*** about Zeus and his "position" or power.

I've always disliked the view most people have on gods like Hades and Thanatos, it's not really fair to compare them to the devil like you said. They really aren't that bad but in films and such they are usually depicted as evil demons for whatever reason. I've always had a soft spot for them because they aren't cruel, they're just doing their job. If Thanatos stops doing his nobody can die, if Hades stops doing his the dead can never reach the underworld. It would be a pretty bad situation, people would be dismembered from war but unable to die, the old would be suffering from the results of being extremely old with no end in sight, etc...

Mythology needs characters like them or things would be even more morbid in the stories and such.

Wait, people think the grim reaper is evil? I always saw it as a force of nature. People should be reminded that for every second they live their body kills something, and that for everything they eat, something must die.

Thanatos is the coolest version of death/the grim reaper that in my opinion because he seems both badass and fair at the same time

It's interesting how Thanatos is considered the god of death while Hades is God of the underworld. Aries wanting his warriors to die honorable deaths in battle by way of Thanatos shows how important Thanatos is. Interesting work.

I agree with you. It's deities like thanatos that do the things that would demonize them that deserve respect in culture because they do the things that no other deity would do they are willing to do the hard call

I've written a lot of my own stories of Thanatos, including how he tries not to be sad about how he is demonized despite how gently merciful he does his duties. In those stories, I use artistic expressions of shock and brain death to explain his merciful embrace. In shock, your pain vanishes. As you near death, you stop fearing it. That is him touching then embracing you. The only way those don't work is if you reject his mercy in his duties. Your brain shutting down, that apparent tunnel to the light, that is him carrying you to the afterlife. People who survive "near-death" and remember those experiences are people Thanatos either fumbled or some other force tore the dying from his hands.

I found the way Underword's Gods described in Greek Myth very fascinating: they not charming or loved, they rarely do what not their job and quite stiff but mostly very fair, not evil, petty or horny like many Olympus Gods. And since myth is the reflection of the way ancient people saw the world, i believe it was the way ancient Greek saw the death: though sometime cruel, often emotionless, and they just never loved it, but still they respected it as the unavoidable, the release and the ultimate fair

I really love your videos. I've been into Greek mythology since I was 11, I'm 14 now. I love reading about them, but there's something intriguing about the way you describe the gods, godesses, and creatures of Greek mythology. And your voice makes it all the more pleasant.
Sincerely, A really huge mythology lover🙃💙
