Being new to this channel, I can only say I wished I had found this channel YEARS ago. It's difficult to find any real NEWS (or really, analysis on Turkish economics and politics) from mainstream media. I can't trust it because of so much spin. This channel is NEEDED, as I feel I'm getting valuable insight here. I appreciate your work, very much - thank you!

Another brilliant session thx to Mr. Yeşilada. Hope the Turkish government again will not take the worst decision in case something happens. (highly doubtful)

The moral is the usual one: if you want to be too smart you end up getting slapped

Excellent Turkish perspective on current Russian vs US, better than many main stream media.
Why you looking at this issue as Russian Ukrainian issue, instead Russia vs (US or NATO)?
China factor will be important if will escalate.

In 1962 the Soviets tried to deploy military capacity in Cuba. US felt threatened by this act, finally Soviet ships turned back to where they came from. In 2022 the US and EU wants to deploy NATO troops in Ukraine (in Russia‘s backyard) and Russia feels threatened. Let‘s see how it ends this time.

Turkey´s "strategic location" is a double edge sword: with the opportunities, comes the risk. The Turkish government will do what it always does: play both sides. One week/month clearly supporting Russia, the next week/month looking very pro-Western. It buys time and often the problem goes away. But if/when the problem persists, Turkey will eventually have to choose a side.

Regarding Russia, it´s a giant with crystal feet. Russia struggled a lot to win in Syria. If the West AND Turkey presented an united front against Russia, Russia wouldn´t stand a chance. The Russian economy is ridiculously small. Putin can win several battles with his powerful army, but in the end he will lose any war he puts himself into. Wars deplete the economy, but Russia has no economy to begin with. Regarding present day Russia, all the West has to fear is fear itself.

If there’s far higher inflation in turkey, do you think that shorting the lira against the dollar is a good trade to take advantage of this?

If Turkey has to choose between Russia and Ukraine as a partner - I think there should be no doubt what the answer will be.

Yeah, Turkey is caught pretty much in the middle in this mess. Staying impartial and out of sight is the best possible way to go and that's what Erdogan is very unlikely to do. He'll act like Turkey is the kingmaker and get both sides pissed off probably.
